Potential shortened season = time to start winning

I see the AFL has shortened their season to 17 rounds.

And once the virus hits its peak I'd be amazed if the NRL can play out a full season as scheduled, too.

In which case, there's no time for a slow start in 2020!

I know there's more important things than footy (that's what I'm told, anyway) but geez this is so deflating.

I can't talk for others, but the footy season doesn't quite seem real this year, I can't describe it, it seems like trials, I cared when we lost on Sat but no more then a blip , I said to missus doesn't matter will be over by round 5....I don't know , I'm indifferent and I'm hating it, I was so looking forward to this year, and yep it's kinda ****ed .

You would have to think it's going to be a shortened season in some way, shape or form...at best....with a likely hiatus sooner rather than later.

PVL will move heaven n earth to keep things going, but it could be taken out of his hands.

Let's assume we get a 2020 comp...shit yeah winning starts now.

This weekend playing to no crowds is as interesting as it is sad. Some teams will go well and others won't. It's like a really serious training drill for the guys. You can't feed off the energy of noise and people. Some guys will under perform and some may perform better as there will be less "pressure".

Yeah, hard to see the comp going much longer. Looks like 2020 is a case of hanging tough and making sure we come out the other side. League has been through worse but not under such competitive circumstances. Greenberg and V'landys need to play their cards carefully.

It's hard to get excited about footy when you expect the season to be called off any minute. "Deflating" is a good word for it.

Yeah the loss felt a bit like a trial loss to me.

It was as if we broke their back in the first half, showed who's best (with a few key players out) and then lost purely due to silly errors in the 2nd half (by a tiny margin).

They got the 2 points but it didn't feel like they earned it or that they were real competition points.

They should put the season on hold for 2-3 months until this is under control.
Shorten the season to play each team once is probably the best way to go, the season will be impacted in one way or other.

But in saying that we will win by 40 this week putting us well in the top 8 on the table, go straight into finals for us to get the three in a row early and save time.

What you have read about wet markets and the filth that you will see there is absolutely true. Did you see that woman eating the ****ing bat soup? Jesus Christ. Have you ever seen a palm civet? They are beatiful little creatures. Why the fark would anyone eat one, plus they are a kind of cat. I have seen all kinds of filth eaten here from snake, frog, crocodile, cat, dog. Sometimes we find parts of wild monkies that the savages have hunted and eaten. These savages often keep the animals alive, next to each other and then butcher the animals right on the floor.

Sorry! But it really is true. Even Chinese people from other regions can't stand it. China gave us SARS and China has given us Covid-19. Personally I have never been happier to be a long-term vegetarian.
