Good to see the big guy get more minutes last night. 40 mins straight is a much bigger test than he’s had in the past. His runs were solid last night, finds his front pretty consistently and works hard after contact every time. His movement from marker was reliable all night even late in a very long stint for a bench front rower. He’d just be disappointed in himself dropping the bat back off the drop out in the final 5 mins. Could’ve had another opportunity to steal the game if not for that along with some poor handling and sloppy ruck defence. Our kicking put us under way too much pressure in the second half. Big difference from last year’s end of sets. Keary has be better than what he dished up in that regard last night. A terrible low bomb caught in goal for a 7 tackle set was the turning point unfortunately. I’m sure the coaching staff will be straight onto that because gifting Turbo easy defusals and field position will see the same outcome next week. Some good signs still. Plenty of push around the ball and some periods of very strong enthusiastic defence which is great to see so early. A better start than 2018 and 2019 for the most part.
