Not sure if this means much but my brother works for a radio station in regional NSW and he has told me the news people he has contact with in Sydney are telling him that Maloney is pretty much a done deal. I guess only time will tell.

It could only mean 2012 is surely Anasta's last season. Personally I still feel that Souffs would be the favourites but like I said that's not what the media talk is. But it wouldn't be the first time a manager links a player to the Roosters to drive up his price! And like you say that would be sweet if it forced Crowe to pay overs.

At some point they are going to have to have the nuts to shift Anasta. If all we keyboard heroes on here can see he is a waste of cap space and not going to take you to a Winfield Cup then surely the Brain and matty elliott can.

It all ties in nicely if Anasta left and maloney came but it doesn't get away from the fact that Anasta signed a 2 year extension and the one you really wanted from NZ was Kevin Locke and we didn't get him.

I dont mind if Maloney is coming and there is a coherent plan but stacking up Morts, Banasta and Maloney and not having a fullback succession plan is odd at best.

Also signing players for 15 months time irks me and it would not make me terribly uncomfortable if Souths trumped us here and Maximus and Maguire paid overs
