Must be rare to receive this highest honour after only two years. Can only applaud the decision. Great to have Cooper recognised for life.

Nice speech from him. Made more of his family link to the eastern suburbs than he has in the past.

A special resolution was enacted to 'override' the length of time rule in this case...it is said.

          And rightly so.
Exceptional player. Exceptional service to our club.

It must hurt players who have committed 10 years to the club as a loyal jnr and nrl player to have Cooper leapfrog them to this award. Maubs and Jake both went thru the 2009 spoon award Mini was looking for a glory retirement and Boyd went on to rebuild with blood sweat and tears to have missed out on the life time award must cut them.

              And their day might come.....

I reckon all mentioned would be thrilled for Cooper.

Yeah, I think so. And it's not a thing that you would ordinarily get until you've retired.

Does it mean your a life member of the Leagues club so you dont have to pay an annual fee like everyone else or are you a life member of the Football club which is a very exclusive club. As far as I know the football club doesnt have a premises anywhere where people go for a drink & socialise.
So I was just wondering what are the benefits of being a life member?

Massive call but IMO it's well deserved because he took a massive reputational risk in leaving his safe spot at the Storm. It paid off for both parties and he's committed to coaching/mentorship beyond his original contract so I'm happy.

IMO what sets him aside from Smith + Slater now isn't just the extra 2 premierships... we've seen him play without the Storm. Blah blah 1 club player. The Storm cheated, it built-up its base of core players/systems by cheating and IMO it will never be known whether Smith/Slater had the ability to succeed outside the Storm. Smith's record against Cronk in finals certainly suggests otherwise.

Its life member of the football club. It was Nick's decision made at the presentation night last year.
                        I didn't hear any complaints

They have the 'Cooper Cronk Feeder Club Player of the Year' award at the Storm. You'd figure Storm life membership will come.

Probably wouldn't be too many. Maybe Ron and Jack? Maybe some of the early Broncos also had a life membership of a QRL club.
