I would welcome him , said what he did about lots of different groups , not just gays but that's what they concentrate on .
He also didn't say it on the football field so shouldn't be any issues to the league ,and like us on the forum , should have the right to his opinion but yes would worry about the sponsors.

I don't really care about what he said to be honest, entitled to speak his mind and rightly so I thought society called him out for being an uneducated bigot but we must accept differing views.

I disagree however that because he didn't say it on the football field there shouldn't be any issues. This is a guy who marketed himself as a brand, did paid promotionals on his instagram and earned money for more than just his playing ability.

You can't have it both ways... sell yourself as a brand to companies and then be surprised when you damage that brand that said companies no longer want to be associated with you. You can't just turn around now and say oh I'm just a footy player now I don't want to be a brand anymore.

Too late, you're a brand and a very toxic one at that which would cause a lot of commercial issues wherever you go.

There's a lot the club would need to consider;
- Members who would walk
- Corporate sponsorship who would walk
- Inability to attract further corporate partners & fans
- Ticket sales
- Associations and relationships with certain charities

Agreed, thats me but the gay community & a lot of the straight community dont share his views. To me the things that he put up on social media means nothing because I dont believe in religion or heaven but I accept that humans on planet earth come in many different varieties which Im glad they do because otherwise it would be boring.
