I totally trust my mate. Known him for years. He doesn't make up stories and has been heavily involved with the club for years as a sponsor. The Burgess boys were talking with him

After the Tigers game it wouldn't be inaccurate to say that Latrell was borderline invisible for much of the next 4-5 months. Thankfully he turned up in the GF with a great defensive effort and a clutch play.

But no way is he the best player in the NRL. The most naturally talented? Perhaps. But being the best player in the NRL means putting in a minumum 8 or 9 out of 10 performance every week and I reckon Teddy has done that for about 40 odd games in a row now.

The bloke is a freak of nature in both quality and consistency at the back - just like Slater, who similarly left GI for dead when measuring their body of works over the course of their respective careers.

Also in a few years when Teddy perhaps starts to slow down then I'd back Payne Haas to be the world's best. Equally as freakish as Latrell and churned out monster performances every week as a 19yr old.

I love Latrell as a player, but aint Inglis 2.0 .....yet.

It all boils down to between the ears. I'm just not convinced he'll reach the heights of Inglis, Slater & Teddy. There is that something extra missing IMO. Would be really happy to be proven wrong, but my gut tells me Latrell's career will be looked back upon in several years as one of wasted potential.
