Oh well, we never really had any hope, seeing as Souths now seem to be the "The Indigenous Club".

Why South Sydney Rabbitohs will be forever linked with Aboriginal Australia
Among David Peachey's most treasured possessions from 266 top-grade games is a photograph taken in 2007 and it could well represent the day South Sydney really embraced their indigenous supporter base.
The fact that the club's co-owner, Academy Award-winning actor Russell Crowe, took the shot in front of a mural on Newtown's King Street because it entwined the Aboriginal flag with Martin Luther King's I Have A Dream affirmation, left Peachey overwhelmed with pride. "When Russell first lobbed at the club I took an idea to him to get all the Koori and Murri players from Souths together in front of I have a Dream," said Peachey, who played 25 times for Souths.
Band of brothers: Souths' indigenous contingent, led by David Peachey, third from right, in front of the inspirational mural in Newtown in 2007.
"And Russell orchestrated that; walked us all down King Street in our Souths gear. There might've been 14 of us Aboriginal boys at the time and he not only directed the shoot but stood behind the camera!

Splits with Deacon because he didn’t get him enough money on his last deal. Breaks contract with Deacon, pays him out.
Sign with new manager, Rushton, who gets him a $1m+ a season deal, but LM didn’t like the club. Breaks contract with Rushton, pays him out.
Signs with Rose. Likely signs with Souths for less than he was getting from us.
So much for getting as much money so he can retire at 30.

Dumb as batshit, easily lead, and a blatant liar.
He "chased the money, brah!" It was just less money than we offered.
But look on the bright side, his soon to be new manager is Indigneous. And his new club, desperate to offload two Indigenous players so they can recruit Latrell, is the only club that truly understands Indigneous fellas.
And that's all that matters apparently.

I have no idea why people are saying Souths need to offload Gagai and/or Johnston to sign Mitchell.
Souths have lost Inglis, George Burgess, Sam Burgess and John Sutton from the roster all in this season, that's a lot of cap space freed up. Plus a few lower tier players like Hiroti, Brittain and Britt.
So far only having officially signed Bryson Goodwin for depth and CJ Mundine.
They would have a truckload to spend.

The Roosters actually have an extensive Indigenous strategy including a Reconciliation Action Plan. It recently attained a level only equalled by one other organisation Australia wide. Thats all Australia not just RL.
Its more that just words of reconciliation its facilitating and auctioning educational and vocational opportunities for indigenous youth.
So I think the Roosters are doing more than lip service and probably more than Souths really do for our Indigenous communitiesThe Internet is a place for posting silly things

Arrow deal reportedly $800k. They need forwards and they have to pay money to get them. Maybe, just maybe that’s why they have to offload a back or two to pay Latrell.

He would still be squandering money. It’s up to him.
I still don’t believe he will even play fullback despite his desires. Bennett has done this before.
