  • The players open to contract offers in November 2020

Just like Latrell could field offers at the end of the current season, we happen to have a number of other players who'll be in this situation in a year's time - players who are contracted to us for 2021, but would be very high on any rival club's hit list. They include:

    Teddy
    Keary
    Toops
    Angus

Looking at that list, I can see why the club couldn't give Latrell the blank cheque he was after.

Teddy & Keary are a must, I’m actually a bit worried about the Chooks if something happens long term to Keary.
I don’t think Toups has ever been on big money at the Chooks maybe 300k now days but if he was offered 500k by another club I think the Chooks would let him go.
I personally hope they keep Crichton till he retires. I also reckon Sitlli could be enticed away to a big contract if he has another good year next year but I hope not.

I’d hate to lose any of those mentioned, or butcher or Verrills

I think the Roosters are successful because they do look that far ahead. I raised it because it might help explain why the Roosters stuck to their guns about Latrell.

Toops will never leave, I don’t think Angus is in a elite category that rival clubs will offer him that much more than the 800k he is roughly on, and keary could also be only a couple headknocks away from an early retirement, Teddy should be the only one locked up as long as possible.

ps if keary signed a long extension, and needed to retire due to concussion, would that be classed as a medical retirement or a pre existing condition?

Good one milanja; yes I'm thinking Sam Burgess.

"Do you expect me to talk"? "No, Mr. Bond, I expect you to die".

Agree with this. I think Sam Verrills will also have to be a very high priority for us going forward. Being able to plan ahead so far in advance, and anticipate players' development and interest from other clubs, is a classic hallmark of why we have been, and are, so successful. I really do applaud going through such processes well ahead of time. Go Easts.

Some people believe supporting the Roosters
is a matter of life and death, I am very disappointed
with that attitude. I can assure you it is
much, much more important than that.

You can bet our club is, and so are others.

When would be the right time for me to start a "we must keep Teddy and Keary" campaign?

                        Three more words

                        AFTER LUKE KEARY

Luke Keary is the best half in the game, needs to be locked up ASAP.

Cant see any leaving unless offered extraordinary amounts.
Toups absolutley dedicated , grateful & respectfil to the club
Teddy knows that he is where he is and the players he is because of the Roosters.
Luke I think will be so well looked after that he wont leave and may have to retire early anyway but lets hope not.
Angus , well hes on his second stint here inst he and has stated he has come homre , thats a big statement after suffering at the vermin .
So Im confident we keep them all.

After they drop the prices in the bistro.

When a player's improvement suddenly blossoms is when the price goes up, the other players on good coin will surely stay at this club on there same salary
