  • Not sure if mentioned

The most pleasing aspect about our victory IMO is the fact that none of our boys had the ball stripped from them, sure those dirty milking diving/acting greenturds attempted it think one was on Toops by BJ and the other where Hodgson clearly tells his mates to drop of JWH. I’m sure a few more attempts were made but no doubt Robbo had them training against it some of the Roosters carriers held the ball in traditional nfl running back style.

    Well noted.

I also feel that Josh Hodgson is given criminal leeway in the ruck when he attempts his strips.

When a player has his hands on the ball it's a penalty pretty quickly; but when Hodgson does it in the name of stripping he's given an absolute eternity to have his hands all over the ball in a long since completed tackle.

It's a farce but our boys handled it very well.

They are double standards in the ruck eh? Another rule change/interpretation done in the off season, highly benefiting a team who kind of came from nowhere to almost win a gf.

Hmmmmmm move along nothing to see here.

Spot on TJ. Makes me wonder what happened to the "hands on the ball" penalty.

While I'm here, I'm going to vent by saying that I can't stand the faiders and their media apologists.

Its a double edged sword though because I thought the concerted effort to stop the ball from being stripped also hampered our attack, we only had 1 offload in the entire 80 minutes.

100% noticed that as well , attack was stifled because they were busy trying to protect the ball , actually think it was the faiders ploy and almost worked.

Yep, I thought the same thing fletch . It contributed to a pretty conservative attacking game by us. I really thought we played as though we had something to lose, whereas the Raiders played like they had nothing to lose. I suspect Robbo was of the view that if we completed our sets, we wouldn't need too many points to win. And so it proved.

Correct me if I’m wrong but I think you have always been able to have your “hands on the ball” (not stripping) until the tackle is complete. The hands on the ball penalty is for stopping the player from playing the ball after the tackle is complete.

In saying that I absolutely loathe the new stripping rule for the reasons Fletch pointed out.
We must have been training for it all week. Butcher was obviously our thief. But I’m so glad it wasn’t that type of game.

Don't understand the support that the rule has in some quarters. 'Makes things interesting and unpredictable'. Not confident it will be changed for next year.

                        It's a mongrel of a rule.

                        Get on the Robbo ticket.

Absolutely it prevented the boys promoting the ball, on the rare occasion we got a quick play the ball, this is where Victor and Jake split the raiders open through the middle if we were able to play like that for even 20 mins of that game it would have been over by halftime. This was the Ricky’s plan the only plan they had really drag us down into the mud and have wrestling matches look were the premiers our class prevailed, but that shit style of play will turn people off the game just like Melbourne has been doing.

It's not going anywhere. We need to start stripping.
