  • Raiders Weakness?

When Aidan Sezer gets rattled he drops his lollies. We need to get stuck into him from the start and put him off his game. Dunamis Lui is another Raider (Interchange) who needs to be challenged as soon as he gets on the park as he takes time to get himself into the game. The Roosters interchange is a strong unit and has it over the Raiders interchange players. Corey Horsburgh (the big red head) is a player to be watched as he is a strong runner and a tough lad who doesn't mind a bit of the rough stuff.

Despite both teams having great online defence, the Roosters will be too strong in the forwards, and have way too much strike through the backs.

Their weaknesses are inexperience across the park, Joey leilua, their bench, Seizer, Ricky Stuart, They are not in the same league as us.

Probably the bench, maybe also point scoring ability but the raiders made it this far so they have few weaknesses

You asked about their weakness and I told you. I have no respect for your ignorant comeback or for Canberra, or their bumbling coach. The only thing that will keep them in the news is the press praying for a miracle. We will flog them.

Manu should terrorise Croker and their left edge. I think I’ll back him for first try scorer.

For a start they have Rapana, BJ and Sezer marking our left-side attack.

They have the weight of all Canberra not winning since yonks. They’ll be second guessing their plays not wanting to stuff it up.
Our strength is that we are well drilled and we follow the plan. We have the confidence we can overcome any issues.

Yeah I don't wanna get over-confident but I think their weaknesses are pretty obvious on paper. In summary:
                  - Partly as a result of all the darn injuries, all 17 players are really solid.
                  - Our best players are the best in the game. Forget what the BS Dally M's say... Teddy, Latrell, Cronk and Cords (maybe more) are all players who your average punter would consider to be the best in the NRL.
                  - Storm aside, we're the best defensive and attacking team in the comp. Our points +/- was 264... the Raiders was 150.
                  - Despite all our injuries this season, we just kept rolling. As a result, our 17 are all regular 1st graders. We've named a very powerful bench compared to that of the Raiders.

This season we've won by putting cricket scores on teams. Whereas, the Raiders have been scraping out a heap of wins by 1 try or 1 penalty. To their credit, the Raiders have been the ultimate competitors... they keep niggling, have a heap of unorthodox ways of spoiling your momentum and never seem to give up against far superior teams of paper.

IMO the Raider's weakness is that their plan will be to spoil our momentum. They'll be hoping that a string of shonky strips, hail mary offloads and lucky tries (e.g. knock-ons that turn into kicks or complete shanks that somehow hit the posts turn into tries). They've had a knack for this all season but we'll be be playing to beat them, not to spoil their plans.

You asked, he replied. At least he is respecting our club which is more important.

All im hoping for is our boys dont turn over cheap ball....it can creep into the Roosters game especially after posting points. Another first half like last years GF would be a beautiful thing!!

The starts of the 2nd halves have been a bit dodgy too- something Robbo i'm sure will address at halftime

What i'm saying is that we can only beat ourselves!! Bring it on!!!!

Raiders looked nervous last week in a game I thought they would win comfortably yet really struggled once they got down on Souths line.
Grand Finals and the pressure they bring are different and I think a few of them might fold under the blowtorch when we apply it on Sunday.

Not all of Canberra ROC. It’s pretty annoying being surrounded by the swell of faiders bandwagoners here at the moment, but there’s quite a few of us Chooks supporters here in the nation’s capital.

Let’s remember that in the first finals game the raiders fluke that with a ball dropped by the Fox in the last 90sec and then get a very controversial call with the touchie to win the game. Likewise v Souths they were very lucky not to have had 3 tries scored against them, they get a favourable call with the Hodgson HIA thing that helped them score their first try. They struggled a lot with Souths and I don’t think it was this thing about being nervous because they had been playing like that for a while. Coming into the finals they had lost against us, Manly and the warriors.

Having watched our game v Souths at the G, we just carved them like a hot knife through butter... but then stopped but I hope that was just Trent’s tactics.

Gus said said that we would have to get it so wrong and the raiders would have to get it so right for them to win it. I agree. At least they have the backing of all of Sydney’s 3000 residents, according to the Tele.

Behind enemy lines? Well I hope they don’t put you all in a concentration camp and force feed you green snags and stale green bread.
