NRL player agents furious that Khoder Nasser could be hawking Quade Cooper and Sonny Bill Williams
By staff writers
FOX SPORTS October 26, 2011 8:47AM Share
NRL player agents are threatening a revolt over persistent rumours that Sonny Bill Williams and Quade Cooper are being shopped around by unaccredited manager Khoder Nasser.
Nasser, whose first and most famous client is rugby league player-turned boxer Anthony Mundine, is not officially registered with the NRL and as such is technically unable to negotiate with clubs.
But that hasn't stopped many in the game from speculating that Nasser is offering rugby union stars Williams and Cooper as a package deal for 2013, when the NRL should have received a significant windfall from the upcoming broadcasting deal.
A leading player manager, speaking anonymously, told The Australian he would be furious if Nasser was found to be flaunting the rules laid out by the NRL.
Cooper and Williams, who both played significant roles in the recently-completed Rugby World Cup in New Zealand, are off-contract at different times, with Cooper on board with the Australian Rugby Union until the end of next season while it's unclear where, and in which sport, Williams will be playing next year.
The agent said that any suggestion the players had been negotiating with clubs on their own was ludicrous given they've been locked down in New Zealand for the past six weeks.
The Sydney Roosters have been mentioned as a likely destination for the star duo, although some of that speculation was dampened by the Roosters' signing of Parramatta Eels discard Daniel Mortimer.

As much as Id love to see him playing centre for our Club, I cannot see SBW coming here. Surely they would have to pay masive dollars, particularly if he was coming in 2012, and with the signing of Mortimer that probably finishes that. I know Mortimer would not be on huge coin but every cent counts.Embrace the Hate! JC
