Recruitment Targets next 12 months

At the club today. Big plans on a major recruitment drive in the next 12 months:

Club is hopeful of a massive salary cap rise in the tune of $2mill or more for 2013

Fullback - Dugan (If he leaves Canberra he will be ours, club has had many discussions with him previously and his bond to teammates and winning a premiership for them was the only reason he didnt leave. Whether he leaves will depend on success this year of the team under Furner)

Centre/Second Row - SBW (Many talks already - if he decides on NRL he will be here. We are the only club His manager had spoken to until recently. auckland Blues only very recently have approached his manager for a 1 year deal with a 1 year option in SBW favour for 2012. Could be here 2012 or 2013. SBW will decide after the final. Only 2 clubs in picture for 2012 to date)

Five Eight - Karmichael Hunt (Talks begun seen as longterm replacment for Braith)

Wing - Israel Folau (No Talks Yet, but POS has a good relationship and is on standy. Manager has been informed if he is interested leaving we are interested)

Pending a release & settlement from the Bulldogs (2012 is the 5th & final year of his NRL contract).

Also interesting to note that POS has been over in NZ the past week.

He is far from the best fullback but I have to say I really enjoy watching him in attack. I rarely enjoy watching opposition teams/players but he is one guy I look forward to seeing.

He can't giude a team around the park, can't kick, can't pass, his legs are too short and without Lockyer he would never have made first grade.

Hypothetically how much would we be under the salary cap right now?

We have lost some very good players and have only signed some fringe first graders.

We would of have plenty of money to play with.

Khunt at full back I could live with even though he is an arrogant farkwit, but 5/8 you are deadset kidding, he has about the same football ability as Braith i.e NONE (and he isn't a nice guy like Braith)

Folau would be good in the centres but would demand big dollars

SBW is a great player but is it worth putting up with Mundine and Nasser

Dugan is an egotistical wanker

With Dugan and Khunt they would have to build bigger dressing rooms to accomodate their heads and egos.

I could certainly live with SBW and Folau though.
