out of curiosity where do we play if we finish 2nd and Souths 3rd? Also if the positions are reversed?

If we finish 1st, 2nd...or heaven forbid 5th or 6th: SCG (Unless they pull some Sydney double header crap at ANZ or bankwest depending on the fixtures and their ability to gather a good crowd)

If we play Souths who place 1st/2nd: ANZ (again assuming they don't organise a double header)

      Raiders, canberra; storm, melbourne etc

and if someone like Manly somehow placed 2nd then first week of the finals would be at brookie as they changed this policy back to allowing suburban grounds week 1

It's odd ay!!! Shoulda kept the old system...
        - 1 plays 8 at home
        - 2 plays 7 at home
        - 3 plays 6 at home
        - 4 plays 5 at home

This got changed because Wayne Bennett had a big fat whinge about how the Dragons were minor premiers (almost undefeated), #8 (Parra) beat them, they lost an away game during the elimination round (Brisbane or something?) then the result of the GF was thrown out anyway because the Storm fukking cheated.

Fukking Wayne Bennett and Craig Bellamy screwing with a winning formula.

Yeah it made more sense for the best team to play the worst team in the finals (as they deserve to)

but I think the main issue of why they changed it was technically 3rd/4th place could be knocked out first round which is pretty rough - so they wanted to reward the top 4 more, but it really did weaken the advantage of the top 2 of being the only safe places with an easy run.

I think we will pay Souths two weeks in a row. I reckon the final round will determine who gets the home ground advantage in the first week of the semis.

Imagine the satisfaction of beating Souths twice in two weeks. Bliss!

Doesn’t matter where you play you just have to win.

I bet the NRL won't allow us to play at the SCG, we will be playing Souths at Olympic Park.

NRL will allow finals at SCG, after all it will be host to the grand final/state of origin next year, possibly the year after too.
