To win the comp we'll need a repeat of the 'never say die' defence we displayed vs Souffs in last year's Prelim.

We held them tryless and simply refused to let them score through sheer willpower.

That imo is not something you can just switch on or off like a tap. It's a level of desire and commitment that you build towards.

And I'd say that if we want a repeat then the Raiders away game in two weeks will be a good starting point.

But if the players think they'll be able to flick that switch come finals wk 1 then they'll be sadly mistaken and Robbo knows it.

Apart from the 2 points I thought the other highlights were the form of JWH and Cords, who both led the way in the forwards.

Verrils looked good too and hopefully ticked some boxes for the coaching staff.

Manu got a lot more action and was impressed again with his physicality and self confidence...he's still got it and bodes well for the back end of the season.

And Lattrells goalkicking is outstanding. Some wanted him to relinquish! Is good for his confidence and rhythm too.

i thought he was impressive and showed a lot of promise.

Today really was a pretty average performance and part of me just wants to forget it.

We got the win and good teams win even when they're not at their best.

But I think we learnt a bit coming out of today's game;

1) Ryan Hall over Brett Morris for me anyway, we missed Hall's yardage today.
2) Radley must start at lock, those first 30 minutes was the best I've seen us attack down the right edge all season. He offers so much and it opens the game up for others
3) That's the best attacking performance I've seen from Cronk all year, you can see that partnership with Aubusson really starting to flourish. Promising.
4) Sam Verrils is going to be a very good player in the future, he's still very raw and made some errors today but he's a necessity so Radley can play at lock.

Another mediocre performance and an ugly win to go along with the 55 minutes of very average footy we played last week.

But as always, happy with the win.

Didn't watch it (currently in Japan tending to personal business). However, I saw us up ~14-0... then finish 20-12 and was like meeeeh.

The good news is that the Storm lost and Souffs struggled. Also, Latrell's now 100% on his conversions from ~10 attempts now (what's his streak?) Something seems to have clicked with him.

Presumably the minor premiership's outta reach (Storm would realistically have to lose 4 from 6 - not gonna happen). I still reckon we can (and need to) come 2nd though. Be interesting to see how we do it!

IMO beating the Raiders, Souffs, Panthers, Warriors, Dragons and Titans (importantly - we often let those ones slip) would show decent form going into the finals. TBH I have fears about all of those games...

I can't say I am that bothered about a top 2 spot at the moment!

If someone offered a top 4 spot and all or most of our players back from injury ready for the finals, I would bite their hand off.

Balance in attack was off today.

Way too right hand dominant.

I think you could see the team spent a bit of time on our right egde side attack this week which is great and we saw the benefits of it, that's the best our right edge has looked all season but it can't come at the expense of our left edge.

Up until last week 28 trys had been scored on the left side compared to 11 on the right side and Ikuvalu was leading try scorer for the right hand side with 3 trys
This week Manu and Morris are now equal with Ikuvalu on 3 trys

Latrell needs to stop rag-dolling players in tackles and just concentrate on making effective tackles instead.
