Haven't really seen enough of Lachie Lam, but can he transition into a 9? That would be the obvious spot for him going forward now that we have signed Sam Walker and Kyle Flanagan

Alas I haven't received that amazing status yet. Have for NSW Origin though.

Fair point. Anybody who has made a top 30 squad is 1 or 2 injuries away from being a regular 1st grade player (like it or not) and even the worst will be freakish athletes who would look amazing at any other level of footy (with the world class standard the NRL sets being the only variable that makes them look slow/un-co). At NRL level all the passes you get are pin point, as fast as possible and as hard as possible (so absolutely unforgiving). A split second of delay will lead to you being smashed into the ground by a force comparable to a car crash. The bar is VERY high!!!

For example I'm in Canberra and was listening to local radio the other day. A Raiders scout was talking and he was all like 'OMG TYLER CORNISH IS BACK IN ONE OF OUR FEEDER CLUBS - EXCITING!!! HE IS COMPLETELY BURNING EVERYBODY!!!' That's how good he is. If you go out to watch him play, he's a superstar who you'd definitely want in your team... until he plays NRL. Same with dudes like Slime Ankle.

First grade takes everything to a whole new level in a ridiculous way and it's a trial by fire for the most talented up and coming players. That's why it's so crazy that guys like Latrell can STILL brush off players in the NRL. Every country town will have a couple of 190cm+ indigenous kids who are fast as a first fark and can mow their way through all the local boys. Very few can repeat it in first grade...

Glad it's been sorted out finally. A 2 year deal is long enough for him to either make it or break it. I'm neutral on this signing as I haven't seen anything from him that I absolutely love or hate. Hopefully he makes it

Shane Flanagan was the one who was pushing for Kyle to join the Roosters. Why is everyone so weary of him? It's like being wary of Trent Robinson because of his brothers involvement with Essendon & ASADA. Shane Flanagan is just another footy dad.
Look at the bright side.....Sharks supporters are spewing!

How do you know the inner thoughts of Shane Flanagan? Are you a mate of his?

I’m not so sure of the story but a couple of very passionate and dedicated supporters go an about Shane not doing the right thing by our club. Supposedly he was the reason Bennett turned his back on us after his handshake agreement to coach us.

Has Cronk said he is staying on in any capacity with easts next year?

Have a read of this article where he states he will help out the next generation of halves at Easts!

For one of the few times in history- I totally agree! Makes me sick to the stomach.

A very reputable source ( yes im being sarcastic), The Daily Telegraph the last time the Roosters were about to sign him in early June.

Hope it means that, sounds more like he is helping them now and last year, then goes on to say “if I’m still around” I can help in the future.

makes sense that he would go into a coaching role eventually, but I wonder if he’ll want some time away after this year.

The fact is he's signed for 2 years on what will be a low-mid range value contract. If he fails to fire, we will have one of either Lam, Lamb or Hutchison to fill his spot and audition for a long term role. I personally am very happy with the signing, Flanno will only improve while playing with Keary and (hopefully) getting coached by Cooper. In Robbo we trust.
Insanity is doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results

I think Flanagan is a good buy for us , he is a proper organising half with a good kicking game and as a bonus is a good goal kicker though latrell has been hitting them so sweetly lately. That kick into a strong westerly at Gosford was gun barrel straight and as good as it gets.

jacks coat, i think the seniors in the squad, ie cords, cronk, maubs will knock any cockiness out of him asap, although a halfback must have some cockiness along with zself confidence , cronk will see him right?
