so he should have retired end of last year ...and our halves this year would have been ...Keary/Latrell ? Keary/Lam ? Keary Lamb ? Keary/ Hutch ? oh wait Luke missed several matches injured so for those matches we would have run with Lam/ Lamb ? Lam / Latrell ? Lamb / Hutch ? etc etc …...……. I don't think any of those combinations are better without Cooper !

cooper does an awful lot of clean up of loose ball/ last tackle type efforts ive noticed. as long as he kicks well , and makes his tackles ....bellamy will pick him and so will robbo .

Just watched the replay of the try he set up for Aubo. Good pace. The guy's pulled the pin too early.

They need him if they are to go B2B.

He was copping it last season too. The response then was that we have him to take us that extra step in the big games. Nothing has changed. His best is definitely to come in Sept and Oct.

Most teams best attacking side is on the left where Cronk and Aubo make so many clean up tackles. Half the game is defence and the two old codgers mightn't be sexy but they are very effective in shutting down attacking raids . Just watched the replay and once again JWH showed he is the best defensive prop in the game with his anticipation and scramble.

I can't believe some of the negative comments on Cronk in this thread. No matter what unfolds this year Cronk has been a massive success and a true Roosters legend. Im sure the supporters who were around for the 80s and 90s aren't whinging.....we had 20 years of getting belted. In those days no one hated the Roosters because they were never a serious threat.Since the 2000's everyone hates us because of our success.......and i LOVE being HATED for it. So to those younger supporters stop demanding perfection every week and enjoy the Roosters ride!!!

Cronks defence todays was exceptional. Keary is still the main man in attack-as he was most of last year and the start of this year. If the Roosters forwards dominate then Keary and Cronk will strike. If the forwards don't dominate then it wouldn't matter if you had Wally Lewis, Thurston, Johns, Sterling, Kenny or Jesus Christ. Amen

                    Ahh the old adage......

                    Never knock a champion.....

                    Thread of the year......

This could be Large Mike Mk 2....

Nothing surprises me after the Teddy worst buy of the decade or past 20 years thread anymore. This one is nearly as bad, we have some spoilt, entitled supporters who either never experienced the truly dark days, or they have forgotten.....

You only have to look at several of the thread titles in response to yesterday's game. Most fan bases would be doing cartwheels after yesterday's show but it's more like a funeral service in here.

I don't think anyone is saying that Cronk is bad. We all love him after last year's performance. I think the point of this thread was to highlight that his powers maybe diminishing slightly in attack. There have been a few uncharacteristic errors of late. And as R6 pointed out at times he seems to be a millisecond behind. It doesn't mean that he has lost it completely

Yes this thread has all the hallmarks of the worst signing of the century by..was it large Mike, or Big Mike or Big Mac? It's one of those I guess...

Coopers defence was sooo good and it started with a a great tackle on Pinga in the first half when he was going for one of his usual runs...

Last year it was said that he was too old, the team wont accept him since he has replaced Pearce and that he can't do it without Smith and Slater...All proven wrong. This year the team has been totally unsettled since round 1... We still can't start and end a game with all our best players...yet we are favourites with the punters and bookies and running 3rd...The future still looks bright...
