Take it easy girls, we are warming up. Losing Friend has disrupted our spine. We will pile on points in the last 20 minutes.
Great call. I was at the game and I commented to a friend we likely run over them. There was a defensive set that head screwed the tin men and from that point on they had nothing.

Exactly right. We play 80, Robbo knows the pretenders would gas out and be lambs to the slaughter with their grubber kick game plan that we blocked time and again.
I'm watching the game recording tonight with the first half on mute! Only so I don't have to hear Fox overhyping Ponga. No match for Tedesco!!!
"My prognosis. The Knights will need to use their youth and enthusiasm to blast out of the boxes and ambush the game. If the Roosters can match or exceed the early onslaught, they will run away from a tiring Knights team, whose defence will not cope with continued pressure. Roosters to cruise home."
They were my thoughts earlier on this thread before the game started.
I'm not going to knock the knockers, only Benny Hill would do that. We did play some dumb footy via individual errors in the early part. Then we clicked into gear and motored over those pretenders. It's our experience as a team. That's what my thread was about. Under pressure, you know the guys will produce at the back end of the 80, when the inexperienced combos like Newcastle have run out of ideas and legs.
But I do wish that the knocking of blokes like Hall and Cronk, as too old and slow etc would ease up, when these champions have been among the best players of the last decade.I remember an old Sydney Stadium fight between a young superb fit light heavyweight contender named Bobby Dunlop, who was the Commonwealth title holder, and an aging overweight opponent name of Jose Torres, who in his prime was among the world's best. The commentators were more interested in how a layer of fat hung over Jose's midriff.
Dunlop was beating Torres to the punch early and then, all of a sudden, Torres unleashed a quick combination of punches that left the young contender seeing stars on the canvas. Game over! Then came the old cliches like you should never knock a champion etc.
Cronk is man enough and smart enough to declare it's over when he's over. And Ryan Hall didn't come out here and endure a Roosters pre-season with a busted knee for a holiday. These guys are champions. They wear the Roosters jersey proudly and may deliver us a back to back. I thought Hall was oustanbding today and getting better ever game. And like some have said - hats of to Tupou. His form all year has been the best I've seen. Go Roosters!
Good game from us. As I said at half time I thought we were going along ok.
Our defensive pressure on their yardage sets was great all game. There felt like there was at least a dozen sets where they failed to make it out to their 40. Half a dozen times where they had to kick from their own 30. It was a really good sign our attitude was on point today.
I thought our kicking game was good, we kicked into corners all day, only a few not executed properly.
Carrying the ball out of our own end through Toops, Teddy & Hall was perfect and our forwards were doing a really good job of bending the line.
Good balance in our direction of play, left right & middle third. When your two second rowers score tries off the halves its generally a good sign the defensive side aren't being able to read which way the plays going.
I thought Keary & Cronk got the balance right today. 55 touches for Keary, 40 for Cronk.
Just individual errors in good ball attack that was the real negative today. Felt like we were trying to hard to create points, big spreads early in the set, a paranoia of dying with the ball on a play and players who aren't naturally creative trying to create something out of nothing.
Butcher, Toops & Hargreaves the stand outs for me. Really opened the game up for the others through their hard work in the middle.
Good summary 6. I want to watch the 10.30pm replay before adding anything. Had the pleasure of looking into the sun from Bill O Reilly stand and craning to see the big screen. So no 3-2-1 yet.
