Robbo essentially highlighted attitude as the real issue. No excuses made for rested players, the available talent should have been good enough. Other teams lift against the premiers, forward passes , penalties....we have had all the excuses before, and overcome thos issues when on our game. Losing five of the past seven games with a scraped home win against the raiders( a good side), the dogs and the tigers, 3wins in the past 8 games, says there is an underlying problem with the team. My guess primarily.....the Latrell Mitchell effect and believing the media hype. Our last good game was against the tigers with 3 tries to Mitchell, a 42-12 scoreline and the media lauding him the best player. And now...he is missing in action more than he is seen. One blitzkrieg effort a game doesn't cut it.....the money floated around for him possibly has destabilized the teams psyche.....are they waiting for wonder boy to save them, or perhaps believing the media hype that we are favourites to go back to back. Their will to win and dominate is not there , and if they are not careful it will be too late to regain that ascendancy......As good a coach as Robbo is, the boys are just not performing to the level they are capable of......

Cant agree its all on Latrell..yes he took a step back but even yesterday with minimum ball he nearly laid on 4 tries ,one was a line ball ref decision the rest support play was appalling He done enough yesterday.
Friend was good but rusty and slow with service ..that will come next few games.
Forwards were patchy and In my eyes seldom had a go.
Manu defensively -positionally was shit ..after 20 mins I was hoping the coach wouldve put Brett Morris there.
The halves well like above were shit ..like lost sheep-....but take into account Cows go away with offside the whole game so they got smothered.
They have to have a good look at themselves and try and pick it up this week against Newcs..they can set themselves up for a good roll home.
Our blokes appear to be playing tired thats how it looked to me.
The games intencity is much faster and higher than 20 years ago teams struggle to do it 2 years straight .
Kudos to Melbourne theyve been at the top like what 4 years straight?.
Then you have a knucklehead in JWH our mainstay our rock that hold it together getting suspended and letting his team down again.

Players pick up on intensity from their team mates and lets face it, our biggest livewire wasnt there yesterday. I do believe that has an effect.

Hard to argue any of those points and you haven't even included the Gosford curse. It's getting to be believed by some. LOL

Cows had a pack that even on paper was superior to ours and we had to be on the front foot from the git-go. Twasn't to be.

Manu struggles in defence and looks flustered under the high ball. It makes one realise just how good Teddy is. But we can't rely on him every game. He deserved a break after the effort he has expended. I agree that Morris, a good defensive player and experienced fullback may have been the better choice. Alas there is rarely a Plan B with the Roosters.

Mitchell still does enough in attack to justify, but he could get a whole lot more involved. To do that he would need to come looking for the ball, or line up some aggressive hits, which he is so good as.

We do look tired and the pressure of two premierships is telling. Somehow we have to put that aside, along with any contract disputes, jealousy etc and get back to playing as a team and enjoying the game again. It's looking like a chore.

Also SST has had a few head knocks, but he doesn't give much away. Sometimes I'm convinced he should be in the sheds rather than trying to shake it off. Overall his form has gone backward since.

JWH seems to be taking it personally with his fueding and borderline play. He needs to pull back for sure. It's doing us no good at all. There's passion and then there is stupidity.

Friend's service did the halves no favour but they were behind a beaten pack. The Cowboys may have been coming from the bottom of the comp but they're also not far outside the 8. Their forwards helped Jake Clifford star in Michael Morgan's absence.

Don’t panic the boys are readying themselves for a big tilt at the Title. It will be the Roosters vs ? come grand finale day.

The last 8 mins trying to line up a FG what a shamozzle. Why didn't we use our Plan B specialist

That was such a negative tactic. Fair enough with 2-3 minutes to go, however we should have been trying to go for a try. We had all the running in the second half and wasted a repeat set to try to go for field goal, with more than 6 minutes remaining. Our focus should have been on scoring a try.

Resting players should have been a calculated risk in terms of increasing our chances of winning the premiership, at the expense of increasing our chances of losing games in which the players have been rested. Unfortunately, from Robbo's reaction you wouldn't know there was any risk at all in playing against a team of champion forwards that pulled our pants down in 2017, and almost again last year.

I would be questioning the attitude of the coach ahead of the attitude of the players. Maybe the players also believed we were certainties.

People have to understand that Latrell will never take a heap of hit ups in the game and nor should we want him to. He is there to provide a couple of moments of brilliance to win us the game.

On Manu. He is a terrible proposition in attack at fullback. He can only play to one side of the field and that's not where our best attackers are. That experiment should now be over with Teddy back and Morris being able to do it in the future if need be.

Is there any benefit to resting players if they are healthy?

We have rested Cronk SST and others recently, have they come back looking refreshed and better? It is probably meant as a long game strategy, hopefully all the rested players have had a small niggle or soreness that by having the week off has helped them, if they were fit, then it reminds me of when the Australian cricket team was resting players as a rotation policy, that in the end did nothing but make them lose rhythm.

we are nowhere near being in a bad position considering all our troops are back on deck, if we beat knights this weekend, it goes along way to starting our premiership defence again.
