Cronk is a champion Rooster. I have never stated otherwise, and was one of the very few who backed him (and the rest of the team) to win the premiership after our Anzac Day loss.
This is what you wrote in post #15

So I can't give MY personal opinion on Cronk? And I never mentioned your posts in my first post in this thread...So I think the thick one, is you!

You absolutely can give your opinion that every season comes down to one person. As I am entitled to call your opinions overly simplistic and highly disrespectful to the rest of the team.

Pearce bad, Cronk good, Keary and Teddy no good without Cronk. Go for it.

I never mentioned Pearce in my first post so you're just delusional...It's like you're trying to protect your girlfriend..Hilarious...Anyway you're boring with your continuous 'disrespectful' accusations...Yawnnn. Have your last say cause I know you want to...meanwhile I'm watching footy.

Really disappointed to read the cheap downplaying of Cronk now and his effect on the team by so many "fans". May I suggest that these critics have a chat with Trent Robinson. Or listen to the speech that Trent made after the grand final win to the team. Or just understand what Trent says about the hierarchy, that it is him and then Cooper before the captains.

Cronk was bought for a reason. And like a hired gun he delivered. We hadn't won a title since 2013 and didn't look like it either. We came up short in the finals every time. In fact our record in finals football was heading into the red. That all changed in 2018. Ask yourself WHY!!!! And why it was so important he was on that field with one arm...tackling Nelson Solomona.

Lastly...go and speak to Luke Keary or Latrell Mitchell. Luke Keary is on record as saying that he learnt more about halves play in the last season than he has learnt in his entire playing career. And he attributes that learning solely to Cooper Cronk. All that knowledge in the last twelve months. And didn't it show in the 2018 Grand Final for Luke Keary.

So don't take my word for it. Or the gallant Cronk defenders, who are intelligent enough to read a game a bit deeper. Just ask the man that runs the show. Trent Robinson...as he's learnt heaps too. Whatever the future holds...the job is done and was achieved first year. That was Cronk's mission....accomplished.

My thoughts on the 18 GF are , Cronk was played and the whole team very tactically by Trent. He knew Cronk would steer the ship yet also played on the minds of the players by having Conk play wounded thus creating a siege mentality on the team to protect a wounded soldier.. It raises your mental awareness throughout the time to the point that your attention to detail is to follow through to the letter..
So all players played at their peak if remember, giving Melba no time to react against a team that was never going lay down for a minute..

            Just my thoughts..

Well said but have you noticed that it was Kearys best year, Mitchell’s best year, Manu’s best year, Fergos best year, James best year, and Teddy’s best year in 2018...add Victor, JWH, SST... Aubbo..., It can’t all be just coincidence.

Totally agree , anyone who cant or wont see what Cronk has bought to this club is delusional , he is a true professional who brings out the best in all around him , but even he cant fix the issues we have had this year with injuries , but we are about to get a lot of great players back , so on with the job and hopefully back to back

I did notice the 'coincidence' LOL And as Agent 86 would say.....and loving it chief!

Re the thread question was Cronk Qld's best half from their last golden era. My backline would look so...post Lockeyer. If Darren was included I would slip him into fullback with Slater to a wing spot.

                    My backline would have been
                    Billy Slater
                    Darius Boyd
                    Greg Inglis
                    Justin Hodges
                    Brent Tate
                    Johnathan Thurston
                    Cooper Cronk.

"Intelligent enough to read the game a bit deeper". Spare me your delusion. These are the same simple-minded fans who put every season down to one player or one coach. As if 2014 had nothing at all to do with Friends injury and suspensions to two forwards. 2015 had nothing at all to do with Pearce and JWH injuries at the worst possible time. 2017 had nothing at all to do with being forced to play two slow forwards in the centres

Go back to last year and see who "read the game a bit deeper".

Dice: as I had stated earlier every one is entitled to his / her personal opinion, but unless you’ve played in a team sport you couldn’t appreciate what Cronk brought to the team last year. That GF win was a team effort inspired by Cronk. I don’t know you and I’m not having a go at you but I’d like to say that when a team member puts his body on the line and plays with a broken shoulder, this motivates his team mates to no end, they’d put their body and soul and lift, which was the case last year.
it is a team effort but the deeds of an individual can have a strong influence on the performance of others.

At least you acknowledge it was a team effort. That is a start :-p

                            Keary has the answer...

That is all I will say on the matter. The important this is we won and with a tiny bit of luck we will go back to back.

I don’t think Robbo would take a player into a grand final with a broken shoulder but he knew how important Cronk is to the team and without him we would have struggled. All the players stepped up because they saw what courage Cooper had when he had won it all and could have easily sat it out...but it seems that some outsider thinks he knows better, unbelievable!!!
