It’s seems some on here expect the Chooks to win every week. And if we don’t, there is a simple reason why not.

For or those who went through the 80’s supporting Easts, know wins let alone finals appearances were few and far between.

Sometimes you lose and it’s not season ending. Other times it forges the ties that link the side to bigger prizes.

Dont despair. Harden up. Cop it on the chin. Play on

    The Roosters Way
    ..it’ll be interesting to see

What happened in the 80's has no relevance to the 70's 90's or now. We can't be using the 80's as a kind of crutch to be content of where we are now. What is pleasing about this loss is that we lost through our own stupid errors right on the line or near enough so we were able to get there, which is better than losing by not being able to get the chance to score...These problems all happen due to the continuous change in combinations at the back and the front...Assuming we settle with our best 17 in the run home without serious injuries to those 17 or 20 or so players, we will be right in line to woop the Storm again in the GF... The best of what the storm can put on the field were lucky to beat a team that's a little unsettled and could have beaten them by 2-3 tries.

Disappointed that we gave them the 2 points and in the context of the comp, we only need to finish 1st or 2nd to have the advantage...if all our players are available, we would beat any team with their best.

Friday's loss was very frustrating. And on the whole the last 5 weeks have been pretty tough.

But deep down I honestly feel as though it's better for our 2019 chances to have this period of 1-4 as opposed to going 5-0.

It sounds silly, but I feel hardship is a neccessity to success and a Premiership.

It resets the mindset and fuels the hunger. This heavy dose of losing can only further motivate the players where as easy wins would just lead to complacency.

Bottom line is that there was always going to be a down period this year. Traditionally its towards the end of the season for Premiers as exhaustion sets in, so the fact that we're having ours now just gives me more confidence that we'll go b2b.

I mean no one is talking about us as runaway certainties, which almost always ends in failure for defending champs. Instead we're going under the radar as part of an, allegedly, wide open competition. And I'm sure Robbo much prefers the latter narrative.
