  • How times fly

Remembering back to mid way last season when nearly ALL of us wanted friend gone and victor at 9. We were almost certain the team didn't need him and was holding us back.. but now a year on we admit he is a key part of our team going B2B and we hugely miss him. How times fly hey? I can happily admit i was one of those doubters who have been proven wrong. Love ya skipper.

friend was pretty poor , early last season. poor kicks, poor passing etc, but he warmed into the season , and caught afire at the back end. radley is trying but is just not a dummy half, his passing is poor from dummy half, misses the target a lot, which affects the way a while set of six goes. the next point is defence and fitness, friend seems made for number 9. im not saying friend is fitter or better conditioned , but i feel hooker is the most physically demanding position on field next to fullback and prop and then there is the mental exhaustion aspect , and maybe it is a mindset thing. friend has done it longer then radley, and you can see it.

Yeah i agree with Mattyh- he copped a lot of shit from all of us and it was because he was playing shit. I remember Michael Ennis saying his service at dummy half was substandard-and it was. Friend didn't spit the dummy- not even when he was booed by his own supporters. He got stuck in and made it right.....and that shut everyone the f%ck up. His last 2 months of 2018 was the best of his career. Actions of a true champion player

Also from the late 70’s til the early 90’s, we still got some barnacles that drag us back. Move on up
        ..it’ll be interesting to see

          Spot on.

I bagged Friend early last year and I'm so glad to say that he proved me wrong. However at the time he was over playing his hand big time.

I've lost count of how many times someone on here (myself included) have said that Rads needs to be moved back to lock. It's just like playing Lats at 5/8. We weaken 2 positions by playing Rads at hooker instead of lock
