  • Ikuvalu v Hall

With Toups certain to grab his wing spot back this week, did Hall do enough to convince Robbo to have him replace Ikuvalu on the right wing??

Ryan Hall is surely a certainty.

But thanks to Matt - he's done a good job for us and it's good to know we've got him as back up.

First time poster here! its great to be part of a strong community of Roosters supporters.

Great question Davo. Ikavalu has been more than impressive and his progression has been great to watch since his debut. He definitely has done nothing to deserve being dropped. However, Hall and Morris were bought for their skill and experience for that right wing. Based on the Broncos game, i would possibly keep Ikavalu there because he is solid and safe (to a degree). Let Hall get some confidence and match fitness at the Bears and push Ikavalu for that starting spot. Hall would have to show that he is more powerful and skillful to disrupt the current roster. I would much rather him come into the team with some good form behind him, then for him to be rushed back and make errors at critical periods in games.

            1. Toups
            2. Hall or Bmoz
            3. Ikuvalu

            Robbo's call on 2.

I don't think so...…. Hall needs some more games in Reserve grade.

Morris ahead of both if he ever gets back from his 2-4 week injury.

I think Hall will end up in front of Morris.

I think that Hall put in a valiant effort in that broncos game, especially with how dominant the broncos defence was that day. He made a lot of metres and post contact metres, and had a lot of runs. Under the high ball he seemed a tad shaky, but he never dropped any balls. I think with the weeks turnaround Hall should prove himself and replace iluvalu for this weeks game, not to take anything away from ikuvalu

It doesn't matter if Morris is fit, he is the clear number 2 imho. Hall would be better for the run but he probably needs to get some confidence and timing by playing for the Bears.

Given how much Robbo values yardage out of his wingers, it wouldn't surprise me if Hall has the edge on Morris but at the same time I think he needs to get some minutes under his belt after a long lay off.

I think the original plan before Hall did his ACL was for Toups/Hall to be the starting wingers with Morris a valuable backup that can play winger/centre/fullback when needed.

I also think Robbo has plans to rest the Origin guys at some point during the 2nd half of the season and that's where Morris' utility value is going to come in very handy, one week he can replace Teddy the next Latrell.

Thank you Mrs Ikavalu, hope you enjoy reserve grade.
