The team is definately good enough to make the top 8 next year... it's just a case of probably not being good enough to make the step up once we make the finals.

Solid is a fair description, no x-factor though.

I was thinking the same thing. And the Drag Queens won a premiership where only Boyd on his day is anything special out of their spine.

To me it's more about having a well balanced squad of, say, 25 that are all willing to play for each other that will bring success. Not individuals.

Exactly... and that's what we saw the last 4 rounds and what we didn't see for most of the season prior.

I don't think it's a great "spine" but they can still do a decent job.

What people tend to overlook is that the teams these days are bloody even across the league. Any team on the given day can win any game, it comes down to luck and injury most of the time.

If we have even luck with injury I have no doubt we will be very competitive.

At least a few people get it. When you also consider our lack of speed out wide then I would say 1 thru 7 we would be in the bottom few in the competition. Individually some of them are ok, but collectively we have a very poor backline.

Cant say any team on paper have a squad easily stronger than the rest

Most squads have a top 17 of similar quality throughout ... up to coach & playersa

I challenge you to pick one team that finished above us whose backs are as slow as ours, and whose kicking game is as poor as ours.

I challenge you to pick one team ahead of us that had more injuries or used more players than us.

If a team like Melbourne get 1-2 injuries to key players they wouldn't make the 8.
