  • BankWest Stadium

Hi lads,I was at BankWest stadium today and just letting you know this stadium is unreal. The atmosphere and the closeness to the ground is awesome. Its the best stadium I have ever watch footy at and I have been to most footy stadiums in Australia.
The food and beer prices are cheaper than what we are used too.The beer was around $7.00 and a hotdog $5.00.
Do yourself a favour and get to this ground when the Roosters play the Tigers their this year. You’ll not be disappointed.

Looks outstanding!!!. There is no place in sport today for grounds like Leichardt,Brookvale, Campbelltown, etc etc. They are crap in every way. Dinosaurs will harp on about tradition and try to romanticize playing games there but they are kidding themselves. It will be a long 3 years playing at the tip that is the SCG ( for league) but it will be worth it when we get a stadium like Bankwest . Cant wait to watch the Chooks v Tigers there

Will be weird playing Parra there twice if so
      ..it’ll be interesting to see

Yeah I heard we are going to take our HOME games against Penrith, Parra, Tigers and Canterbury there, so we could end up playing there up to 6 times a year, I think it's a great idea, the place looks awesome, and no intimidation factor because it's new. I am going to fly to Sydney for that game against the Tigers in July. It's my daughters birthday that week so good way to combine a celebration.

I am curious where you heard that we are taking 4 home games there. As far as I was aware we had signed a deal with the Cricket Ground Trust to play at the SCG for 3 years. I know Buzz mentioned that we might be going to do that but other than his assumptions who else has stated this will happen?

Yes that's where I head it too. And I think we have the option to take our home games wherever we wish for the next 3 years, we take them to Gosford and Adelaide, so it makes sense to use the best facilities where we will get the best crowds. I am confident it will happen , but we will have to wait and see. Certainly it would be better than playing on the SCG.

How were the seats in terms of comfortability and size

The seats were the flip up type. They weren’t the biggest seats but they were comfortable enough. The rows are steep where you could have a seven foot person sitting in front of you and you could still see the game fine.

With about double the amount being spent our our stadium, it should be twice as good.

I wonder what would be the larger home crowd ?

                              (a) playing at a cricket ground, 40 metres from the action but in within our traditional boundaries.

                              (b) playing miles away in another teams area but playing at the new best stadium for league in the country

Especially as the season continues and our fans wear thin of the distant action at the SCG, how many would travel out west to sample the shiny new stadium at Parra?
