Latrell is not the next GI - Latrell is Latrell and will make his own way in the RL world. He knows that better than anyone. In the end, what does it matter whether or not he is better than GI??
GI's career has had its highlights and lowlights. A magnificent sight when on song, but could also be bog average for a player of his talent. He was at his best at the Storm and don't think he ever recaptured that form for Souffs. He tended to save his best performances for Origin and Aus, rather than Rusty's rabble. I don't actually think Souffs will miss him all that much.
What grates me is the media and NRL HQ making him out to be a pillar of the community, and a role model for the indigenous - he is far from it.
As for Inglis becoming an immortal - I don't see it happening. Too inconsistent.Supporting the RW&B, through good times and bad times.

I think Latrell has more in his kit bag then GI, with his kicking game an added bonus. GI at the Storm was magic and he certainly had more pace than Latrell. Still Latrell is no slouch when he gets into a break and seems to go into top gear easily. They are virtually the same height and weight, although GI was thinner and faster when he came into grade. I admired GI's ability to cover many positions with total class, but this is where Latrell may shine too with his recent forays into the five eight position.
Latrell for mine is more reminiscent of Arthur Beetson, who came to Sydney as a centre and shifted into the forwards. He has the ability to run over people, great fend, superb ball skills and great hands. Also can be a bit lazy on the conditioning side of things. Latrell also has Beetson's fire and desire to win. Once he channels that a bit better and reduces the penalties against him, he'll have it all. I love watching him play - an unbelievable talent.
