He has to wait about 2 years until his day in court. If he does get off he can sue the NRL but the guys career is practically over...

He says he is innocent and all around him believe him. There will be a lot of embarrassed Saints people if they stick up for him and then he gets convicted....Then again it could be that he's just stalling for time...who knows...

What pissed me off about Greenberg is that he came out with the excuse that women are leaving the game because his daughters girlfriends have told them why they're leaving the game so that is his survey...and maybe a womens group in the Shire.

That's why NRL should not get inviolved until after the court case.
60min did a show about this about a month ago, they interviewed girls who targeted NRL and AFL players, they said they knew the risks, but the partying and being pampered is a major attraction.

a girl was interviewed who was dating a Collingwood player, she said she felt like an accessory, told what to wear and when to talk at awards nights and so on, she ended the relationship and he then broke down, he got that bad that the Collingwood psychiatrist and coaching staff we’re begging her to get back together with him so his mind is back on the job and playing well.

bodene Thompson was going out with a playboy model who asked if she could pick some of his teammates who they could have orgy’s with, she then said that she felt that the players used her to brag about it, after a few times she fell pregnant, Thompson was found to be the father, but he said he didnt want anything to do with them.

both stories are pretty fcuked up, but it shows there is more to most stories.

I thought it was expected the judge would make a decision in the next 2 weeks, so Tuesday seems unlikely.

Either way, it wont affect the outcome of our game. Either play well enough to win or not.

My understanding is that he can train and get paid but can't be selected to play.

I dunno how courts will rule on his challenge but IMO the above is a key part of their legitimacy. The NRL's position is that they are not pre-judging him. They're just saying... you can't perform public facing duties while awaiting a court outcome for a crime that has a maximum penalty of life.

Without knowing the facts/considerations I lean towards saying well... what can De Belin sue the NRL for if successful? Damages = the quantum of what $$$ he has lost. He's still getting $600k and is guaranteed his job back if successful with the courts, so no money is lost as a result of this.

            There is loss.

Two years out of the game means he would struggle to play at the top level after it. That would be reflected in his next contract.

There is also the lost payments from rep footy whilst he is stood down.

            its a really hard question.

If he is found innocent ofcourse he will sue them, huge damage to his career and reputation. I don't think he would be taking it this far unless he was confident of proving his innocence, Batshit Beattie and Greenturd will have to step down if it goes against them, and that's a good thing.

                  Brilliant question.

without knowing, I’d bet players association chipping in decent coin.
quietly, I also think most in the game including administration want de Belin to win so stars can play. Stars are Product but Administration had to be seen to be doing something for fans and sponsors

Absolute bullshit and THEY are the ones who are ****ing the game.
Wighton went before his case as well. His case was heard and is now free to play after serving his ban. I don’t see you point? Why wouldn’t he be allowed to play?
