  • Was that first half Cronk's best half of footy - from an individual pov - that he's played for us? It was a bit of a masterclass.

    • I liked Andrew Voss's comment early on about fans cheering for leading the penalty count.

He said something like "Roosters fans are cheering for leading the penalty count...it's something they only do about once a season...".

      • Yeah, but we thrashed them on the scoreboard last night but still lost the penalty count by the end of the game.

then went on to say the leads never last very long. then a minute later they received a penalty and hes like see told you not very long.

had a lil chuckle at that

Cronk was fantastic in that first half, in attack and defence. As Robbo said, he makes those around him better players. Crichtos's try was a classic. Cronk ran right into the line and Crighton timed his angled run to perfection. Cronk's kicking never let the Broncos rest and his organisation was faultless. Good to see Robbo keeping him in cotton wool.

            • Watched the full replay again and wanted to acknowledge two skilful plays that led to tries.

Joeys silky touch on to Ikuvalu to score, then Aubos beautiful change of direction off his left foot when taking the pass for his first try.

Agree. Can we sign Cooper to play 2020 part-time? Every second game? Sort of a TTR (transition to retirement) arrangement?

I was going to come on here and make a comment to that effect so thank you to you zac and others for so doing.
As for Vossy's comments about penalties, it's clear to me he knows something of the issue that some of us here are bothered by each year.

                    Hehe.
As for Vossy - he's one of the smarter non-ex player commentators. Has a bit of humour about him as well. How channel 9 could think Hadley or that other bloke who isn't Ray Warren who does the main call are better than him, I'll never know.

                    • The NRL admitted today that TPJ should of been sin binned for his dog shot on Cronk.

There was a try in that Souffs game, to Aubusson IIRC where Cronk showed some great footwork and touch to put Aubusson into a hole. I reckon Cronk looks a lot fitter this year, I don't know if he was carrying an injury or something last year but there were times when he barely looked liked he could kick it 20 metres.

I really like what I've seen from him this year, even the way he is playing into the line compared to last year.

                          • If the Broncos lose tonight & Newcastle win the Broncos will be coming last. How good would that be.

I like the sound of that but I fear the useless sharks are playing the Donkeys into form. Tonight looks like being a massive turning point in this season.

Don’t be fickle. Broncos are useless with too many young inexperienced forwards.
