  • Lachlan Lam making grade

Not sure why no one else hasn’t raised this guy after last weeks Athur Beetson halfa game, especially now that he has been named to play first grade again this week.

I was most impressed by his solid front on defence. The little dab for his captain to cross for a try was instinct. Well done.

Feel Trent will go with the same game plan and save him for a second half performance, especially with Victor be able to float back rather than distribute.

    Wish the guy well.
    ..it’ll be interesting to see

Lam was very impressive and didn't miss a tackle. I would like to see Robbo start with Lam.

not making comparisons here, but i think a few of us are reserving judgement after the hastings fiasco and people annointing him the next great roosters half. robbo will ease him into grade i guess and he will sink or swim, started well but so did hastings. i must say is defence was impressive which is a great building block . good luck tomorrow young man hope you brain it.

Jackson Hastings is making a huge impact in the Super League both on and off the field. In hindsight Jackson playing at a club that his father is a living legend at wasnt ideal- it got to his head.
However Lachlam Lam seems more grounded than Jackson was at his age.He certainly has Adrians positivity and enthusiasm about him

Me too cause I want LM in the centres opposite Takarangi who can’t tackle (cost us that game against Souths years ago when they won in the last minute cause of his poor defence).

Interesting that it was Sean O’Sullivan who was called upon last year ahead of Lam. I wonder who the club rated higher.

giving promising young players a chance in the first team always gets me a bit excited, im hoping he kills it, but i will still be delighted if hes just solid for the moment

Makes sense to start him. He went well last week so has every reason to be confident. Also, from a recruitment pov, it allows the club to get a better idea of just how good he is. He doesn't have to be MotM, but another solid performance and we can think of him being our starting 5/8 next year if Coops decides to call it a day.

Could be a decent easing in if Cronk's there to mentor him and cover during tougher games, but completely absent during others.

I think Keary's coming of age as a rep half as well, which could be interesting. IMO he has responded really well to having more responsibility and the task of supporting a talented youngster could teach him more about his own game.

True. Look at Cooper. Was he MOTM once last year? Yet he had a great influence on the team.
