TPJ will get better in a couple of more years. Right now he is just 23 and a big boy who can't control his agro which is why he runs out of puff after a few hits. I'd say by 25-26 he'll be as good as Taumalolo.

You keep harping on about that but centres in Rugby is completely different to centres in League. If we had a heap of injuries in a game it might happen but he is never going to be selected there to start a game unless there is absolutely nobody else available.

Yeah SBW is a rugby centre... it's where union seems to put league back rowers and vice versa.

I don't watch yawnion these days to be able to comment accurately on the technical aspects. However, IMO league is a bit like what yawnion would be if you removed the need for rucks/mauls/scrums and the bigarse forwards who do such things. My thoughts are:
- Yawnion centres don't go around teams like league centres because they'd get singled out and have the ball pinched.
- League back rowers are like yawnion centres because league tackles are like mauls... they do a bit of that, but are also expected to hang off the ruck (in a league sense) and look for lotsa running opportunities. You'd probably still play somebody like Taumalolo as a yawnion centre because he can run all day and make a heap of post contact metres.

Sure, hes got plenty of ability however its not just the ability on the field that counts anymore. Its got a lot to what you do or don't do off it.

Last year Angus was playing with injury (shoulder). Also, Siebold was using him as a battering ram. The year before that he was great. He does have an offload, a good step and with a player like Cronk inside him I can see him breaking the line. His defence is good but could be better under Robbo. It will take time for him to gel, especially when he’s coming off the bench. Check out his highlights on YouTube. You might be surprised.

I am guilty as charged on that one. I have learnt the error in my ways and have now reformed.

I am still guilty of watching the Jennings compilations from when he was with us though.

Maybe “cat” would be more appropriate seeing that his offense was against an unsuspecting family and kids were involved. How the NRL can allow such a scumbag into their comp is bewildering.

I get where you’re coming from but keep in mind Angus has excelled playing NRL for Souths and in my opinion can do it for us too. Omar on the other hand never reached that level. Angus has untapped talent. We have only seen a glimpse of that talent. There are greater minds than you or I who believe in him. Robbo and Uncle Nick think he will succeed here so I will leave it there.

I agree mate. I honestly believe that poor child will be scarred for life by that incident as will the parents. The footage of it was horrific in my opinion. If ever anyone was going to be kicked out of the game for good it should have been him the deadbeat

That would be surprising because Unc Nick did away with that over 10 years ago maybe even 15 he foresaw what would happen in the future eg..Manly Bullchocs ,Parra and the list goes on.

TPG will depend on his asking price. Like many on the forum, I favour a proven big bopper to bolster our pack and he is as good as any. Seems to win MOM awards in virtually half of the Broncs games. Whether he has suspect hammys would have to play a role though. Don't want to pay overs and get teammates offside in the process.

As for the comparions between Omar and Crichton, I don't see any. Omar couldn't tackle if his life depended on it and was a no go from the start. Sure he had a step and scored some fancy tries in U-20's and Japanese rugby. Counts for naught in the NRL and he didn't have the physique nor consistency to compete at that level, despite SBW's pushing his profile.

Chrichton is a SOO forward and he's only just fitting into out style. I though he went well against Souths, slipping a great ball for one attacking raid. Plus he was rock solid against Manly. Give him time. We've seen what he can do and Robbo is no bad judge of talent.

I think you mis-read that person's post. They referred to front loading ie paying more up front, rather than back-ending ie paying more in later years of the contract
