We were over 90% v the Sharks in week 1 of the finals, however only at 70% against Souths, you can thank our awesome defence that masked this low completion rate. Souths only managed 74% mind you, thanks Burgi. Also against the Storm in the Grand Final our completion rate was high 80% and much better than the Storms.
If we use the Grand Final as an example, was the completion rate of the storm and us a reflection of the teams level of ability in regards to ball control on that day or an outcome of the way the game was played?

We scored early points and jumped out to a significant lead. There was no need for us to play anything other than low percentage footy from very early on.

Compare that to the Storm who were chasing the game for about 60 minutes of the contest, there was an obvious need and significant pressure to try and create something, chance their hand.

So it's not really surprising then that we completed at a higher percentage than usual and the Storm completed at a lower percentage than usual.

I believe set completion tells you more about mindset and the way the game went than a teams ability in regards to ball control.

Would the Broncos of had a more successful season with the creative talent they have in their backline had they chanced their hand more often and finished 2nd last for set completions rather than focusing so heavily on playing a low percentage, possession based game all the time and finishing 2nd?
