  • Money To Spend

With the departure of so many players we must have alot of space under the cap.

    N.Myles
    T.Carney
    D.Conn
    A.Watts
    K.Linnett
    M.Riddle
    J.Carney

If the price is right Quade Cooper come on down!

J Carney? Has he been released? If so, that is news to me ...
And as for having money to spend, I suspect that has gone to keeping the youngsters.

with departures new signings and upgrades, i think the Roosters should have around 700k - 900k in the bank still and hopefully save for next year and dont spend because they have it.

I wouldn't say no to Cooper coming to the Roosters, he reminds me very much of Andrew Walker. (no futher comment will be made as TOK will assume it is racist.)

Save any spare coin to sign a fullback and 5/8 for 2013, that's all we need for a run at a title.

            Chook.

If Quade Cooper came here as a 5/8th I'd welcome him with open arms.

And he'd be bringing Stephanie Rice with him, which would garner no complaints either.

Exactly. 2013 is when the talent that is in U20s this year will be making and impact in first grade and a lot of our young guys in first grade now will be peaking (Tasi, Kennedy, Masoe, Cordner, Taka, Friend, Pearce, BJ). If we keep them and pick up a classy fullback and 5/8, we will be a massive chance in 2013 and 2014.

Naughton is leaving to, not that he would take much cap.

I hope we keep Kheirallah. A lot on here wrote him off after one game at fullback, but I think he has the talent and pace to make it as a FG winger.

Not fussed either way with the others - depth players at best. Except Ford - who I hope we get rid of....

Mostly agree. IMO our biggest problem the last few years has been our inability to counter a compressed defence. We have desperately lacked speed out wide and a 5/8th that can commit defenders and spread the ball quickly. Carney partially solved the problem.

I would be chasing someone like Maloney, and some speed out wide. Phil Graham showed we don't need a superstar at fullback, anyone is better than Mini.

Phil Graham was so under-rated on this site. He was a genuine professional first-grader....
