There is an article in the Telegraph that includes the 2017 totals and says the NRL will release the data today.

The Roosters are way down the 2017 list, despite all the slurs - under $200k. Storm are over a million and Broncs not far behind. Vermin the biggest rorters of this in Sydney.

        That's a 2018 list. As expected...
        1. Storm
        2. Broncos
        3. Cowboys

Notably it doesn't include non-cash deals. I suspect there's lots of deals that can't be quantified.

Storm's a joke though. They got a cap that was roughly 10% higher than ours and we still won.

I expect an apology from rival team fans saying we use the TPAs to exploit the caps

but of course we won’t get that. I’ve already seen a bunch of people in denial saying “the roosters are definitely not that low, they’re not revealing their full numbers to the NRL”

          *facepalm*

The club has said for years we do vanilla contracts. Corporate TPAs aren't just risks for the club, they are for the player as well - it's just not worth going heavy on them. There's far more effective ways to work the system, bucketloads of exemptions based around education, vehicles, accomodation, travel etc.

It adds another discussion point around Bellamy, Bennett & Green's success.

An 800k yearly advantage over other teams is enormous.

Makes you wonder just how much those Melbourne sides who got caught cap cheating were actually spending more than every other team once you factor in their TPA deals on top of the salary cap rorting.

Also adds a discussion point around Robbo’s success. Makes it even more clear he is the best in the game.

If you take out Cronk from the grand final team who was essentially nothing more than an inspirational mannequin we would have fielded a team worth almost 2 million dollars less than Melbourne.

And to say it was convincing would be an understatement.

Obviously so many other factors to consider and one game never proves anything but it's an interesting fact.

C’mon guys, all this proves is that we’re more than likely doing brown paper bags and/or providing services to players as a way of rorting the system.

If anything I’d have preferred that we were at the top of the published list so that we could (at least) say we work within the rules.

Don't just look at that game. Look at the whole tenure.

All it proves is how we are the best-run club in the game.

It doesn’t REALLY prove anything though, does it

Yep! That’s an additional elite player! That’s quite a leg up. Imagine if we had another elite player on our 2018 side, the commotion it would have caused! Haha
