This could be just a coincidence. Or evidence of a very unhealthy culture. Take your pick.

No coincidence,,, they were all sacked because of their actions

              Stuart-"Wanted more money"

              Anderson-"worst Coach in history"

              Fittler-"cant find his Hotel Room"

              Carney-Alcoholic (Simple)

Graham Murray was dudded in 2001 - we didn't have that bad a year. We finished 6th at the end of the regular season. But the powers that be wanted Sticky at the Club so he was made the scapegoat, despite signing a new deal mid 2001.

Note that it's usually the coach that the fall guy, not a particular player. Just shows how divisive the powers that be decided Carney was.

And remember how Fittler reckoned that Firman was the player who could replace himself. The alarm bells should have been ringing then about Fittler. And that was before he experimented with Maubo as 5/8.

If we'd won another couple of games and been in the finals, would he be playing this weekend? I say hell yeah, he would have been first picked. He is a scapegoat.
Carney a scapegoat??? Now thats one of the funniest things ive read on a message board in a LOOOOOONG time!

                    Its called scapegoating.

Our board does it better than anyone to make sure no responsibility ever lands on their shoulders.

Is it the board or one astute bloke making the odd mistake and the other who is a 1000 years old

I dont know who does what last few years but I can tell you that the board had almost zero knowledge or impact years ago ,It was always Nick and his sidekick -Tonto making all the decisions -having Noyce in was to soften Nicks work load.

Well I think its fair to say that Uncle Nick does most of the decision making.

He's certainly the one that gets praised shoveled upon him whenever we have strung a decent 3-6 months of footy together over the past 7 seasons (which only happened on 3 occasions).

He is also the one supposedly wielding the axe whenever things turn pear-shaped, at least according to the media anyway.

What shits me is that despite having such love for the club, Nick continually pisses off for months on end during the season, and its almost always MIA overseas when the shit hits the fan.

Anderson was just past it, a gamble that I thought may work but failed in a big way.
Fittler, well in the end everyone knew he had absolutely no idea. The initial sucess was only due to the opposition not knowing how to play a Fittler coached side. They figured it out coming into the semis and we were cannon fodder from then on.

Murray was the one that I think was truly shafted with a knife in the back. I am not convinced the Roosters would have made the 2 GFs with him in charge, but it was a nasty deed.

I think a lot of the things that happen at the Roosters is due to a desire for results sometimes without an appropriate long term play.
Agree with all of this - particularly Murray.

Important to remember that we let Ricky go in the belief that Bennett was locked in.
