Maybe Dane was acting in self defence and has a awesome right hook....
Yep that's why I'm saying 'possibly'. I know nothing about what happened.

      Official statement...

“Having fallen awkwardly as a result of the punch, Saifiti injured his leg and was transported to hospital by security staff.

“The matter is now with the police.

“Given the facts, Saifiti may be subject to disciplinary action taken by the Club at the appropriate time.”

My mate played with Dane he said Dane was a better footballer than boyd in the juniors but he lacked the discipline boyd has, mitch said that if dane had the right coach and motivation he could have been as good if not better than boyd .He also said hes pretty handy out the back of the pub lol.

thanks red, it was a fair time back and i am getting older, i agree the details are a bit fuzzy foir me, your version seems more likely, youd be a brave idiot to break cords jaw, i suppose hes done payback now? i can however give you details about easts first return to the scg in 1967 v canterbury bankstown, we won thqat 18/2 in the mud. at half time jack gibson had easts return to the fielsd in clean jerseys! i remember larpa stewart scored a runaway try and kevin junee a try up the middle through the mud, i rember crying tears of joy with my mother on the paddo hill after that game! we were back! went on to make tghe top four that year after not winning a game the year before! so the memory is still firing just not the very best all rthe time?

Sounds like Cords bro is in deep shit .Thye were saying D.Cords was outside waiting for him after Saifiti had an altercation inside with somepne else.

Sounds a bit odd to me.
Dane Cordner has hit him (dont know where) & Saifiti has broken his leg after falling awkwardly. Figure that out.
He's a big bloke that Saifiti so DC must have plenty of ticker unless he coward punched him.

                  My guess is...
                  - Verbal argument inside
                  - Dane's waited outside to finish it
                  - They've had a bit of push and shove, Saifiti drunk and he's been pushed back into an obstacle or something (accidentally aside from the push), tripped and then his recovering leg has gone snaaaap.

IMO this is why you don't touch people though. As soon as you do, you're up for pretty serious criminal charges (unless you can prove it was self defence - which is a defence that won't necessarily get you off 100%).

NRL clubs should get some ex-cops and/or lawyers to come in and educate them about assault and battery. It's not all that difficult to understand that ANY argument where you law hands on somebody (even ones where you don't) is very likely to end up with you being dragged away by cops.
