Parra Stadium is the same vintage (built after the 86 GF?) and it has already been knocked down and rebuilt, to be re-opened at Easter. And apart from the issue of the local pool being taken away, no one battled an eyelid at the rebuild - it fact it was applauded!

It's western Sydney.. so it's great when they get a new stadium.

FWIW all they've done is taken out a bunch of seats... expected completion is some time in late July. Election's in 15 days and there will still be a stadium sitting there at that stage. Gladys is now no longer mentioning the stadium in her speeches because the issue has become extremely unpopular.

IMO regardless of who wins, we're looking at a minority government, Stuart Ayres losing his seat and budget blow-outs (already reported) forcing this project off the books.

Unfortunately for Gladys the state election doesn't just cover voters from the Eastern Suburbs.The campaign by the Labor party that the money that is being used to build the new stadium should be used for hospitals and education will appeal to a lot more voters. Think about it- if your not a user of the SFS where do you want your tax dollars to end up?

I think Michael Daley telling Alan Jones that the SCG trust will be sacked if Labor wins is exactly what Jones deserves. Most voters don't differentiate between Federal and State politics and the backlash from Turnbulls sacking, which Jones & Hadley were instrumental, may come back to bite the Libs in the state election....and ironically cost Jones his spot on the SCG trust.

Libs lost me after Turnbulls needless sacking. Personally i think both major parties and Greens need a major shake up so i will be voting for a independent.

Libs should never have replaced elected by the People Abbott with Turnbull in the first place.
