Townsend played the back end of season with sharks and was a factor why they went on there winning spree and kicks goals.
my ideal would have been to pick up kyle stanley and play in the centres/at fullback next year then transition him into the 5/8 spot once moga, blair and co force him out of the backline and into the halves

He didn't make all the bumble-fingered players in our team drop the ball every few minutes.
And i recall Todd dropping plenty of ball himself this year..And being a complete turnstile in defence..
2010 should've shown Todd what he could do with his life if he remained focused..Ego & immaturity stopped any progress he made..
So we ended up with 2011 Todd..
I've moved on..I suggest you do too..

Todd showed how much he respected the club and his team-mates when he chose to go out with Watts in the cross instead of going up to Newcastle with the rest of the squad.
Do you really think, that deep down, Todd Carney cared about the big picture - the club, the fans, the brand, his teammates ? He wouldn't even put his body on the line in defence for farks sake.
So to address you post - is he really one of our own, or another one in the long line of players only at this club to collect their paycheck ?

Given the chance to start afresh next year I'd suggest he would have ripped it up. But we'll never know now will we.

I can see Souffs signing him. It will bring back his days with Canberra - all offence and no defence. Perfect fit for each other. Perfect replacement for Sandow really.
Sadly, i think the only club that Todd can flourish in is Melbourne. Under Bellyache and away from the spotlights. Unfortunately for Todd, Melbourne have an equal player at half the price.
And wouldn't it be a nice kick in our teeth if he produced for them something like he did as a Rooster in 2010??
we'd all be ruing the day the club decided he should abstain from a few social drinks with his mates ffs

I'd be hoping we send Cordner, Maubs, and Guerra at him all day resulting in a plethora of tries.

No matter how much I try, I cannot hate the guy.
What he did last year was the greatest thing I have seen since Fittler.
I don't want to dwell on the psychoanalysis part, but I think cancer is harsh - he did not hate or love this club. What he loves is playing football, because it makes him feel fantastic. You could see it all through last year. I reckon he liked the environment here, and the fans, but it wasn't the red white and blue that took hold of him, rather the simple fact of playing awesome rugby league.
Part of the reason I cannot hate him is because I have an awful feeling that next year, we will be lamenting Braith's ineptitude, and wishing for Carney's magic 2010.

Some of you TC fans are ridiculous! The audacity to blame the club, Anasta, Smith, Politis, the drinking ban....God forgive the club for trying to impose some standards!
Tell me, if he was a lesser player would you all be so up in arms? He's talented. I was a massive fan, but as soon as he thought he was bigger than this club he lost me. He's a 25 year-old, unapologetic, dickhead who will blame anything and anyone for his 'problems'.
We could have had something special with him, but he threw it away and if he can't make sacrifices for the club, the club doesn't have to make any more sacrifices for him.
Stop moaning over him like clingy girls who got dumped by a commitment-phobic bad-boy who broke your heart. We were never going to change him.

Without Politis we dont have a club he has done so much for the club and im greatful his on our side just like Anasta is, a bloke who loves the club and plays his ass off each week, even when he does make mistakes on the field he still tries.
You can tell how passionate he is when he questions a ref about a decision against our club, he could easily just get back into the line.
Goodbye Todd, the roosters will move on and i hope our fans do to.
