  • Some good stats from our last 4 games

    Against Dragons;
    Meters gained: 1388
    Offloads: 13
    Won the error count!!!

    Against Sharks;
    Metres gained: 1456
    Offloads: 14!!!

    Against Eels;
    Meters Gained: 1657!!!
    Offloads: 10

    Against Storm;
    Meters gained: 1551
    Offloads: 13
    You'll never believe this one... WE WON THE PENALTY COUNT!!!

    I just thought meters have been the things we lacked during the middle of the season and I've noticed that we've been doing a lot more offloads recently. I hope we play like this next year because I reckon we'd at least have a good shot at the 8 or even with a bit of luck, the top 4.

    Big improvement in both areas. I tend to remember reading about making 800 odd metres in one game until I think it was Graham scored a long range at the death... Cant find the game though

      Having 3 or 4 fowards making 100+ yards makes a huge difference and was def missing during the other parts of the season

        Our attack next year will depend entirely on offload-generated second phase play.

          Not entirely but I agree that it should be pretty dominant as the thing that we use most, kind of like our bread and butter play. I still reckon that sending the ball out wide early for Tagive/Moga or late for Leilua, SKD or Perrett will be one of the favoured plays. Tagive and I think Moga have extreme speed and SKD, Perrett and Leilua are proven try scoring machines.

            I think this is where we will be most dangerous as well. We have made a lot of breaks off the back of offloads from Taka, Guerra and Ryles at the back end of this season. Even JWH and FPN were throwing a few.

            If Cherro can get back, he will add to this as well.

            I love the skill that Taka brings to the team.

              Who is going to send the ball out wide. bwaiff? fark me i hope thats not the plan. I agree that second phase will have to be good, I can see lots of flat passing to hole runners with the occasional attempt by bwaiff to take the line on himself. I am hopeful that the boys can make the 8, but unfortunately without a gamebreaker it will be just for the experience.

                I agree with what you just said although I reckon Pearce and Minichiello are pretty good at cut out passes. Minichiello set up both of Leilua's trys in the corner and if Pearce didn't throw one sightly forward Graham would've scored too.
