Just watching the GF again tonight, A lot said about about Mitchell's hit on Chambers Into the sign post. For me Joey's strip on Munsters certain try was a massive play in the overall scheme of the the GF. The Storm where asking questions and this play sucked momentum out of them. GREAT GF PLAY.

Joey's strip on Munster

I was worried about Manu's defensive flaws earlier in the season, it was terribly obvious he was struggling in the tackling department, but full credit to the coaching staff, to work with him, to get that part of his game up to scratch. I would also like the speed coach to work with him over the off season, if he can pick up another yard or two of pace, the world is his oyster.

It was a huge play. The Storm were mounting pressure & were lifting. Despite the fact Munster had four on two & probably should have passed it Manu was gone, he was wrong footed & had started falling, his desperation & commitment just got enough on Munster's arm to force the error. If the Storm scored there it was game on & we would have been well & truly under the pump for 20 minutes defending one short.
After the strip you could see the wind go out of their sails & heads drop. It went a long way to winning the game.
Been impressed with Manu's improvement this year. He is quickly developing the best fend in the game & we now easily have the best centre pairing in the game.

It's good being a Rooster at the moment
I remember the dark days of the 80's and 90's , the Grand Final losses , and then 2016.
Now we have a full squad to be proud of.
The rise of Joey Manu is just one of the great things we have has the pleasure to watch this year.

I still can't believer how easy we made the win look against a team that was expected to beat us. Maybe that's the key though? Like 2017 when the Cowboys beat us, we EXPECTED that we'd win. This year Souffs expected to beat us and so did the Drizzle... both teams were kept to 6 points or less (which IMO isn't getting enough coverage - we played ~140 mins of finals footy with zero tries being scored against us).

There was also a tackle on Scott that he pulled off when the Storm had spent what felt like an eternity attacking our line, I think it was the 5th set in a row where he knocked the ball loose that was absolutely huge in the context of the game too.
Manu's physicality and intent in the second half of the season with his defence was sublime. There's no doubt Manu & Latrell opposing each other in training every day will only benefit each other and take their games to the next level. No other centre in the game gets that kind of test on a weekly basis at training.
Will be interesting to see them go head to head on the international stage.

When Paulie got a go in the preliminary final I remember Robbo saying him + Cords knew he was ready because he trained against Latrell every week and could defend Latrell in training... so an old, broken GI was no problem.
