      The import quota was 13. Yet we had great players in the early 80s such as Gary Warnecke and John Tobin.

        The most important position at a successful club is the coach. That's a concept that we struggled with for years as we chased superstars.

        We really lucked out with Robbo, especially now that he seems to have his bench rotations in order.

          I went to High School from 88-93, tough gig being a Chooks supporter then. Salvo was my idol, he did everything for us and when selected to play State of Origin from a crap team, I think I may have been happier than him.

                We were the best team in 1980 and 1981, and arguably 1987 as well. We should have had premierships in all those years, or at least two out of the three. 1981, in particular, was the one that got away.
