    NRLNEWS NRL News
RR: The Sydney Roosters become the first sporting club in Australia, to ban their players from getting tattoos during the season.

WTF they cant possibly impinge on players civil liberties, I think.

They can...if the players want to keep their employment and be paid the big bucks on offer.

    Ye olde saying:

"He who pays the piper calls the tune" ...it has ever been so, in reality.

Same deal as the alcohol ban...it was legal for Carney, Myles, FPN and the rumoured others to drink alcohol during the club's ban, but they broke the club's rules...the employer.

Sydney Roosters ban players from getting tattoos during the season

THE Roosters have become the first major sporting club in Australia to ban players from getting tattoos during the season.

Ink lovers Todd Carney, Jake Friend, Mitchell Pearce and the rest of the players are about to be told to get their tattoos done in the off-season or not at all. And it's all about performance, not just the dodgy look of players wandering around seedy tattoo parlours in their spare time.

Chief executive Steve Noyce has confirmed it's an initiative that comes from the club's high-performance unit. Apparently players have turned up to training this year in pain in various parts of their body from freshly inked tattoos.

"We've found it can affect their ability to train at 100 per cent," Noyce told me. "What players do in their spare time is their business, but when you turn up for training and you can't compete in all the skills, it becomes an issue.

Fair enough....I can imagine it at the moment....

'Sorry Smithy, can't do contact work today, I just got another tattoo on my left butt cheek and I'm too sore.'

Well a solid example is Friend... remember when he took pain killers because his newly inked arm hurt too much? If guys are coming to training complaining of tats hurting then it's BS.

Certain professionals can be told "no tats..." it's also a clause in NSWIS contracts too (or was in mine at least.)

Good rule IMO. Tats are a seedy fad popular amongst lowlives.

Many tattoo parlours are owned by bikies?...and some have been blown up and had shots fired into them in alleged bikie wars?

Shots fired into tattoo parlour in South Windsor

          http://www.adelaidenow.com.au/news/n...-1225977906242

A BIKIE gang could be responsible for the petrol bombing of a tattoo parlour in Sydney's eastern suburbs, police say.

The business on Coogee Bay Rd, Coogee, was badly damaged in the fire-bomb attack at 12.50am (AEDT) today, prompting the evacuation of up to 30 neighbours.

                    Ism, you're an ignorant fool!

I've been getting tattooed for about 10 years now, and I'd hardly consider myself a lowlife!

Alcohol ban...Todd broke it, he was sacked.

Tattoo ban during season...any player breaks it, it'll a breach notice for them too.

Aha, more places for the DT to stake out with their cameras.
Of course it doesn't say you can't attend a tattoo parlour with a buddy who's a customer...or visit your new girlfriend who works there.

Exactly what hit me first too, imagine the uproar when a Rooster is spotted in a tattoo parlour during the season and the headhunting that will follow from the Telefluff, ugh.
