This rumour is gaining momentum on other forums and twitter.

Smithy apparently approached them as he is not happy with us.

If there is any truth to it, there is Elliot ready to take over. Carney and Smith not on speaking terms but he is close to Elliot. Uncle Nick wants Carney to stay. The Carney decision delayed until season is over.

Is there an interesting twist about to happen?

its a load of crap

Carney will be sacked next week, the players don't want him at the club anymore

he has been told he is not wanted on the end of season trip and infact has been spotted getting smashed at several North Sydney drinking holes in the last week, he continues to show no respect for the club and its just a matter of our season being over before he is given the punt.

Smith was talking about plans to introduce Moga/Evans into the first grade side at a media interview after last friday's match, he wouldn't have bothered if his intention wasn't to be here next year.

The Mole (Rugby League Week) reported this week that "a current NRL" coach has discreetly made himself available for the top job @ Belmore because he is unhappy at his present club. Make of it what you will!

Nothing to say that couldn't be Kearney or Flannagan for starters.

I would be very pissed off if we lost Smith to the Dogs due to our Board's incompetence and determination to keep Carney. Elliott has no chance of instilling any discipline in Carney, he's been too close to him as a mate for too long.
