  • Home games next at the SCG

    Was sent this from a mate who is a gold member, interesting it only states up to 9 home games for the Roosters, the up to bit is interesting, sounds like they may be thinking of shuffling some more home games else where if the SCG schedule is too tight with other fixtures. We know Adelaide and Gosford already get one home game, maybe the super football weekend in Brisbane will be another home game moved and that's how they came up 9 homes game at the SCG but as I said before the UP To bit sounds questionable.
    Dear Members

    At last night’s meeting of the Trust, the final arrangements were determined for interim facilities during the NSW Government’s redevelopment of Allianz Stadium.

    We can confirm that Gold and Platinum members will receive a 10 per cent reduction in 2018/19 annual subscriptions. The interim arrangements include:
    • The Stadium Club will relocate its gym facilities to the Entertainment Quarter, along with all equipment and staff. The new gym will be open on January 2, 2019 and boasts a more modern fitout than the current facility, including separate group fitness and cycle studios;
    • Gold and Platinum members will have access to two hours’ free parking in the EQ car park, adjacent to the new Stadium Club;
    • Azure Café will be located across from the new gym in EQ, retaining the sense of community that binds our regular Stadium Club users;
    • There are no pool facilities in EQ, so the Trust will provide access for Gold and Platinum members to a series of pools around metropolitan Sydney. The locations will be confirmed next week;
    • The Trust has secured access to tennis courts at Cooper Park Tennis Courts in Woollahra. Free parking is available at the end of Bunna Place adjacent to the courts; and
    • Squash players will have access to courts at Bondi/Waverley Squash Club at Bondi Junction. There are free and paid parking options nearby.
    The Roosters, Sydney FC and NSW Waratahs will relocate matches to the SCG during the redevelopment. At this stage we can confirm the following fixtures at the ground:
    • Up to nine Sydney Roosters home matches in the 2019 NRL regular season;
    • At least three NSW Waratahs home matches in the 2019 Super Rugby competition; and
    • Four Sydney FC home matches as part of the 2018/19 A-League season, including the October 27 Sydney Derby against the Western Sydney Wanderers.
    Gold and Platinum members will have access to these matches and the facilities of the members reserve. Member access rights have also been secured for any fixtures that move away from the precinct to other venues within the Sydney metropolitan area.

    Please note that the by-laws that govern the Trust do not provide an option to put your membership on hold.

    Members will receive subscription renewal details early next week along with a timeline and brochure outlining the new gym facilities and seating arrangements for the transferred events. Further information will also be included in Around The Grounds, to be mailed this September.

    I would like to thank you for your patience while we have secured the interim arrangements for our members. It has been a complicated process but, happily, one that is complete. I look forward to seeing you at your new gym next year or at the SCG in the months ahead.

    If you have questions in the meantime, please email sfsdevelopment@scgt.nsw.gov.au.

    Kind regards

      Join the club. The whole exercise is unnecessary. Allianz only needed a facelift. Total waste of taxpayers money. I honestly think Gladys has a finger in the pie. IE: kickbacks from developers. Otherwise why has she pushed so hard to get it through and hav Allianz demolished before the next State election? Hmmm!

        Be only 9 homes games at the SCG in 2019 as you mentioned - "home games" in Adelaide/ Gosford and Brisbane(super weekend)- This super weekend has been tried before in 1977/1978 - Leagueathon (John Singletons idea)- 3 games on Saturday and 3 on Sunday at the SCG - we played Manly in 1977 and beat them 20-0 (beat Manly in the second round 12-0) and played St George in 1978 and beat them 22-6 I recall.

          Even though it is one of the best grounds to view league from the SFS was poorly designed to start with, it cannot even offer shelter when there is a slight down pour, no doubt Gladys has her fingers in many pies[ West CONNEx etc], the SFS did need more than a face lift but not till after ANZ was completely finished being redeveloped.

            Don't worry the new ground will be sold off soon with the funds to be used for infrastructure- schools/hospitals/rail network/TAFE(what's left of it) etc next - you name it all will be sold - user pay is the future.

            our head office in Bridge street Circular Quay (Department of Education) was sold to a private consortium for 30 mill who sold it 6 months later for 65 million to a developer who will turn it into a boutique hotel - go figure how that could occur - it was a public building for starters sold for a pittance to "developers"

              dont blame me as an alp supporter im working towards getting ruid of this sell it all for profit government, theyre all on the take!in fact i think the demolition and relocation of allianz to kippax lake is a veiled trick to set a precedent of building within the cenntennial park trust so long term they can chop up the park for some very smart expensive units!

                  No. The new stadium will be built where the old stadium now stands. There was no way they were going to get away with taking kippax lake. Clover Moore made sure of that.

                    SCG is a low ground to watch league at. Will be attending very few if any games while we play there

                      When Baird put the original plans in for a 55,000 seat stadium a few years ago he wanted it on the Kippax Lake site, mainly for it to be closer to the white elephant bridge to nowhere, but it got turned down I think by Malcolm Turnbull . The current re development plans of the SFS will be on the current site it stands on.

                          We could always dig up the old Sports Ground from under the SFS car park, now that was a hill, the sun setting in your eyes if you sat on the hill at the Eastern end, ahhh the good old days.

                              Its funny, when Baird resigned and Gladys took over I thought maybe just maybe she would right a few of the wrongs started by Baird or at least be a bit more transparent but no, she is just as corrupt as he ever was.
