Griffin buries Gus

I think Griffin has a lot more class and credibility that Gus. For Gus to think he can sack a coach and take one off another club regardless of contracts is disgusting. And using the family connection to lure Cleary is low as well. I thought it strange last week when he was saying he wouldn't stand in Nathans way if he asked for a release to play for his father, it just smelt false, no I think maybe he was just trying to make the Tigers feel they should do the same thing in reverse. Maybe I am reading too much into this. Absolutely cunning if true.

I gotta go against popular opinion here, but I thought Griffen came across as untruthful, and a little shadey. Far from open and articulate anyway.
The bits he didn't say were odd, kinda like he wanted to create the impression that it was all him that got penrith into a position to compete for top 4.
I think he was a bit of a puppet all along, but Gould caught him trying to cut his own strings.

After hearing about Luke Phillips leaving the Panthers because of gould's crap, I have no doubt Griffin was telling the truth and still probably holding backThe Internet is a place for posting silly things
Try and be serious and you will look stupid

Very impressed by Griffin. He wouldn't take Gould's garbage and wouldn't be bullied by him either. And thanks to Gould re-signing him a year earlier than he needed to, he has a few years' salary so he can take his time to find the position that best suits him.
If Ivan Cleary decides to return to Penriff after the way Gould treated him last time, then he is a bloody idiot. Because you can rest assured that as soon as son Nathan is signed to a long term contract, Ivan will become expendible whenever Gould sees fit. And Gould will be forever standing over Ivan, putting his nose in where it's not wanted nor needed.
Gould has no trouble spending the Riff's money on compensating players and coaches when he sacks them at will. I hope he stays there for the next 20 years trying to deliver his 5 year plan from 10 years ago, for no other reason that it means he will step nowhere near the Chooks.Supporting the RW&B, through good times and bad times.

While I agree Gould is mercenary in his dealings, it's those mercenary tactics that brought Matt Sing and that Fittler fellow, along with several other premiership winning players, to the Roosters.
Note to Ivan Cleary: It would be incredibly stupid of you to go to Penrith for any money. Not to mention the players would resent junior because of perceived special treatment. And if Ivan doesn't treat Nathan with any special treatment, it will cause resentment at home.

Also all this recent talk in the media about Ivan and his son wanting to be together. Purely coincidental that it happened in the lead up to Griffin’s sacking or simply leaked to the media to get the idea out there? Then yesterday he says we have one coach in mind (clearly Cleary), but today he backs off and says oh no we never wanted to get Ivan for 2019. He should join the ALP or Liberal Party. He’d fit right in there.
