Less penalties means more footy and more fatigue and real footballers will thrive.

If Mary and his Dragqueens now find it too hard. They can piss off and play yawnion as there are enough penalties to go around in that snore fest of a game for them.

Kent was definately having an indirect (or direct) dig at both our club and the storm be saying that both clubs bend the rules more than others and now that the refs aren't penalising as much it means (in his view) that both clubs are getting away with a lot more than they were allowed to get away with at the beginning of the year. He was having a dig at both clubs because from my memory his comments came in response to the question from the host of the show basically asking whether the storm and roosters rising to the towards the top of the table was a case of the cream rising to the top the longer the season went. Instead of agreeing that it was a case of the cream rising to the top, he went off on his stupid tangent by saying that both clubs get away with too much. He is of course wrong, teams that play us are allowed to hold down, be offside and put hands on the ball all the time (as the dragons did the whole game) yet they never get penalised. What he should have said was that the refs constantly blowing penalties every few minutes in the first half of the season meant that average teams were able to compete much easier against the top teams and the fact that the refs are slowly allowing the games to flow has helped the better teams who deserve it.

I found his comments in the context of what he was asked about the storm and roosters were pathetic and I still am staggered how some of these clowns in the media can have such well paid jobs.

        Fully agree Oranges..

Anything that lets the game flow with minimal penalties or stoppages is to be applauded. It lets the teams, not the match officials decide the game.

And thats how it should be.

Well said. The Roosters and Storm have by far the best teams in the NRL on paper.

And now that the referees have put their whistles away it is showing.

The Dragons can't win games courtesy of 6 Widdop penalty goals any more because their strategy of diving for penalties is no longer working.

All teams bend the rules. It just means that penalty dependent teams don’t get as much of an advantage.
