  • Daniel Tupou

According to "The Lurker" (Sporting News Australia) there is word that Daniel Tupou wants out of the Roosters. I believe that the Roosters secured him until 2021 last year but with the recent acquisition of Ryan Hall and Brett Morris, surely this wasn't in the plans to also cover Tupou, right?

Toops is playing pretty well and bar the injury and extensive lay-off this year he is a player that we should stick with, at his best he was one of the comp's best and in-form wingers and can get back to his best especially with having a 'deadly" left edge combo with Mitchell.

The Lurker can talk some crap but this would be a massive let down if we let Toops go.

    Thoughts ?

    Rubbish!
Toops absolutely loves the Roosters. No way this rumour has any credibility.
The Lurker gets very little correct and this is an example of that.

If replaced by BM or an in form RH, then I don't see an issue. He just doesn't seem to have the footballing smarts some times. I am a fan of his but see his deficiencies also..

Lurker is a ****wit of epic proportions. His hit rate is atrocious.

Is this is a case of putting BMoz and RHall together and getting Tupou leaving? Methinks that is the case.

Daniel had a good game yesterday and for a change rarely got pushed back when hitting the ball up to start a Roosters set.

Toops is only 27. Hall and Morris are 31.
Many more years left in Toops. We can only have so many aged players in the team. The older they are the more susceptible they are to injury too.
Anyway, bottom line, Toops won’t be leaving any time soon.

There was a story going around a few months ago that we were looking at Jake Mamo also.

                    That's not just a story. That's a horror story.

Stephen King must have written that.

Surely you would have noticed the improvement in our attack when topou came back from injury. He is one of our key players, no doubt. He and Latrell together on the left edge gives us a great shot at winning the trophy this year.

No way we would give him up for a pair of 31 year olds.

I was impressed by his game yesterday considering there are 2 internationals who play the same position coming next year.

What pleased me most was Cronks kick for his try. Have been waiting all year for that play. Near indefensible if executed right.
                        ..it’ll be interesting to see

I agree with what everyone's saying, but I don't think we should take Toops for granted. If reports of signing Morris are true (the only news we have from the club is Robbo saying that we haven't) Toops has every right to ask questions about where he fits in.

Tupes would keep either of those guys in reserve grade.

Toups is an auto pick in firsts. One of the other two will miss out if all 3 are available, most likely the pom who has zero NRL experience.
