The Mole is reporting this morning that we have signed Morris. Done deal. Announcement in the next few days.
Hope we ended up getting two for the price of one. ie: Hall and Morris for Fergo.
What I don’t understand is if we could afford these two signings why couldn’t we afford to match Fergos Parra deal?
Considering he is a pretty good back up goal kicker and years younger, one would think $500K per year is reasonable. I bet the two signings have cost us more than that.

Not a fan of this signing at all, I would have preferred to keep Fergo than go down this path . Sounds like they made a big play for Isaako and when that didn't come off they have got desperate. Hall I can understand but Morris doesn't add up and I can't see him getting much game time .

Morris is a classic winger. Has been a great finisher for many years. As mentioned above, he is a footballer.

Can we say the same for Tupou? He is probably the dumbest footballer in the NRL.

I agree with you Vasco..

Over the next 2 year window I would take proven performers in Hall and Morris over unproven hopefuls Ikavalu,Momirovski and Bernard Lewis!

Also I don’t believe for a minute we have overpaid for these 2 guys,the Club is smarter than that!

Do you understand why we didn't keep Fergo?

I was happy to let Fergo go because I didn't think he was worth a costly 3 year deal but replacing him with two wingers who are older defeats the purpose of that argument . Morris is on his last legs and whilst still a reliable defender isn't going to help our attack, I can only see him playing reserve grade for us unless we have injuries. Surely the bloke who has been filling in for us can do that job at a much cheaper price .

Yes the club made it clear it won’t pay big money for a winger and that’s why no more Fergo. I don’t think Hall came for the money cause he could get more in Superleague. And Morris is winding down so wouldn’t have cost too much I presume.

I reckon the club should just have their own reserve grade team. It's not as if we are broke.

Viewed from that perspective the signing would make some sense. One of the great values of having experienced campaigners is what they pass onto the young guys coming through, as the old reserve grade used to do. It's a fine line between nurturing juniors and/or stifling opportunity. The successful clubs can walk it well. Fergo's form has been out of the box, but he was playing for his last contract. It was now or never time for him.

He doesn't put alot of thought into his play for instance when he tried to catch a kick off a few weeks or so ago and caught the ball then he put his foot over the sideline...lol

Morris made the Origin team in 2017 his skill's couldn't have dropped that far surely.
