He was an even better halfback , but we used him as a winger.

I remember he played halfback against the Panthers in Penrith one day which we lost, but as you say we predominantly used him as a winger..

If memory serves me corrrectly he was awarded Dally M winger of the year also..(Could be wrong though).

Really like B Morris as a player.

But...he is a 31 year old outside back who will be expensive.

He has already lost more than a yard of pace and will lose yards more in the coming seasons.

He wont deliver those kick returns like we are used to with Fergo either.

Morris is still a good player but he’s playing in side where all their big names are playing without confidence. Even Sharon Woods has improved playing at the Sharks so I have some confidence that any of the Morris’s will get back some form on another team.

Brett's father was 29 when he came to us in 1987 and he'd already picked up a Dally M winger of the year after Roy Masters moved him from the halves. We'd lost John Ferguson and he was an ideal replacement. In fact he won winger of the year again in 1987 for us and played the off season for Leeds, achieving some success there too.

Funny that we might be considering Steve's son to replace another indigenous Ferguson. But Brett wlll turn 32 this year and has been injury prone for the last couple of years. Steve retired at thirty two. If Brett was in form and fit - maybe - but he is neither. Pity because he has a wealth of experience and knows his way to the try-line.

If Blake Ferguson can duplicate his namesake he'll still be playing seven years from now and winning premierships in 2025. John was 36 when he last played for the Raiders in the 1990 grand final, scoring a try in his grand finale.

This could be a really good signing. I just think Morris would be asking for too much.

                            Slippery was awesome in 87.

We have a history of getting a good year or two out of veteran wingers.

There's not much else out there. Let's face it Ikuvalu ain't much chop.
