Sydney Roosters 'Important Announcement' On Todd Carney

Following a request from Todd Carney and his manager for an extension before meeting the Sydney Roosters board, the Roosters have today agreed to wait until the completion of their season to conclude the matter.

Until that time, there will be no further comment.

In the meantime, Todd Carney will continue to be excused from training and playing as well any other Club activities under the terms of his contract

I would prefer they made a decision and moved on.. Allows the rumour and innuendo to continue in the media eg;Smith doesn't want to play him so perhaps now they are waiting for seasons end and possibly dumping Smith as the new coach (Elliott??) may be keen to keep him etc etc...

Maybe he wants to secure alternative employment before any announcement.

Just heard on Twitter - Elliot to replace Smith, Carney to stay!! Not really but yeah you are right mate. On a positive though the decision will be less emotional. Also, it may already be made and it is just better timing to wait to weeks. Ahhhhh, the possibilities are endless.

Actually i can understand as well that waiting will take the heat off when the decision is announced as the focus in the news will be away from the Roosters..

Better off getting the sack now and any club will pick him up.

End of the season is fine, it's not as if the bloke's playing and allows the Club and the team to focus on the footy being played rather than the TC circus. More important things to concentrate on - like ending the year on a positive note with some improved performances.

As for Smith not playing him - I totally agree with the decision to not play he or Myles, and I believe the team's performances in the past two weeks justify that decision. They seem a much happier and unified bunch of blokes.

wait till the gf week... make the decision and announcement then and it won't get anywhere near the amount of media coverage as many will be focussing on the 2 gf teams

His manager made the request so you would think it was not better.

Carney would have had a say in it.
