This is great news if true.
I'm a huge fan of Robbo, he's still a very young coach and has made plenty of errors in his first 5 and a half years but he will no doubt be better for it. He's also done a shit load right and that's the exciting part, I can't remember a time where we have consistently developed our rising stars into actual stars... Latrell Mitchell could have been anything but he's undoubtedly the best centre in the game at 21, don't underestimate Robbo's role in that.
I know lots on here were saying pre-season that other coaches have figured him out but yet again we have conceded the fewest points thus far in the season.
He's a true leader, you get consistency from him no matter the pressure or situation and thats what I admire the most about him.

I think it's stupid to compare the dominance of a sport where there is no salary cap.Two things are infinite: the universe and human stupidity; and I'm not sure about the universe

I wonder if the NRL introduces a salary cap on coaching staff whether contracts already agreed to prior the commencement of the coaching salary cap would be excluded.
You would think they have to be, at least the portion that would take the club over the cap.

In the overall scheme of things it's probably a reasonably safe bet. Robbo seems to do a decent job with the young guys and maintain a team harmony. There's not a lot out there and as long as the team is competitive it will maintain its fan base. Bellamy has proved that long term tenures can work, without having a limitless pool of players ala Bennett, providing you maintain respect of the playing group and an eye for talent.
His strength is his defence and team bonding; the platform of all successive teams. We've probably all been guilty of criticising the structured, safety first attack. But in saying that effective attack is borne from good structure. The bench use is my main complaint. Use it or lose it. But providing we are winning games it's probably irrelevant. He's still learning and doing a good job along the way. The biggest plus is that Robbo, unlike some ambitious coaches, is very much for the club.

In wog ball, you can and do buy premierships. Also there is no GF... minor premiership = premiership. Also, wog ball is soft as!

I think it's great news for the club as he is a highly respected member of the game and his quiet, calm demeanor gives players confidence. When he talks people listen which is always a sign that one is held in high regard.
The only issue I've ever had with Robbo is his use of the interchange . With Bennett on his last contract and Bellamy nearing the end of his coaching career I'm happy to have one of the best coaches in the game at the helm for the roosters.
P. S That same article mentioned the cronk retiring early as bullshit

Great news. Gives stability to the club. Robbo's the man for the job. We are not the Transit Lounge!
Gus Gould was saying that clubs have to be compliant with the off-field costs cap within a few years. I think there's no penalty if you exceed the cap atm, so long as you're compliant by, if I remember correctly, 2020. Guess all that would be factored in to Robbo's deal.

It helps sign players having a successful coach sign.
Still want him to win high pressure, sudden death games resulting in another Premiership.
Might have to sacrifice bench wingers and playing on reputation..it’ll be interesting to see
