The Chooks used to have some sort of relationship with Redcliffe back in those times I recall and Dolphin would give some intel about particular players - I remember we signed Mick Crocker/Ben Jones and slammin' Sam Obst from Redcliffe.

I remember when Sam Obst played his first NRL game for the Chooks vs St George-Illawarra - I think there was a hail storm during that game too - he dumped Jason Ryles in a heavy tackle and Ryles got up a bit shaken and played the ball the wrong way (facing his try line and not the chooks) conceding a penalty - The laughter and comments from the crowd - hey Ryles what does it feel like being tackled by the ball ball - Obst was rather short in statue
